A few years ago, I used the Slim-Fast Diet Plan to lose 20 pounds – 20 pounds that I had gained after I successfully quit smoking. I recently quit smoking, started smoking again, and then quit again – all within the span of 8 months. As you can imagine, I have a few pounds that I need to lose as a result! While I am already making healthy changes in my lifestyle – vitamins, exercise and a healthier diet – I can’t quite seem to kick start the weight loss in the way I’d hope I would be able to!

That’s where Slim-Fastenters the picture. Unlike fad diets, Slim-Fast is a tried and true diet plan, and can be made to work for each individual. Their website is a great tool to use in conjunction with their shakes, meal replacement bars and snack bars. You can even register at to get diet tips, a customizable diet plan and a progress report as you keep track of your diet!

About the Slim-Fast Diet Plan

  • Pick 3 nourishing snacks a day – Slim·Fast 100-calorie snack bars, nuts, fruits and/or veggies. Snacking can be a good thing! In fact, it’s an important part of the Slim·Fast 3•2•1 Plan. It keeps your metabolism going and gives you the energy you need to help get through the day.
  • Choose 2 Slim·Fast shakes or meal bars. Giving breakfast a break, leaving lunch behind or taking a break from dinner is easier when you replace a meal with your choice of Slim·Fast shakes and meal bars in a range of delicious flavors.
  • Enjoy 1 500-calorie balanced meal per day. Our recipes are specifically designed by the Slim-Fast Test Kitchens to provide delicious-tasting, 500-calorie meals that you can enjoy at home.
I just tried the new Milk Chocolate Slim-Fast shakes and I have to tell you, they taste a lot better than they did years ago. They taste great and you will actually want to drink them. I skipped my morning snack yesterday and just added a banana and a cup of ice to my milk chocolate shake and made myself a smoothie – it was so good that I did the same thing this morning for breakfast.

At 180 or 190 calories per serving, Slim·Fast Shakes provide about one-third of your recommended daily intake for most essential vitamins and minerals. There are lots of new delicious flavors to try out, so you will never get bored with the selections!

  • Creamy Milk Chocolate (one of my favorites)
  • Strawberries N Creme
  • Cappuccino Delight
  • French Vanilla
  • Rich Chocolate Royale
  • Lower carb milk chocolate and vanilla as well!

There are five Slim·Fast Snack Bars that you can incorporate into your diet as treats for whenever you want something sweet at snack time too. Ingredients include rich chocolate, crispy wafers, crunchy nuts, smooth yogurt and creamy peanut butter, and at 100 calories apiece, they fit right in as a healthy snack in the Slim·Fast 3•2•1 Plan! There are plenty of flavors to make your taste buds happy!

  • Peanut Butter Crunch
  • Double-Dutch Chocolate
  • Chocolate Mint
  • Chocolate Nougat
  • Chocolatey Vanilla Blitz

In addition to the shakes and snack bars, there are also six Slim·Fast Meal Bars that you can enjoy in place of a meal. Flavors range from rich chocolate to sweet fruit, and from smooth yogurt to crunchy oatmeal and cinnamon. At 200 calories per bar, Slim·Fast Meal Bars give you 20% of the recommended daily intake for most essential vitamins and minerals, and can help you keep cravings under control. They’re great meal replacement picks in the Slim·Fast 3•2•1 Plan, so you’ll have plenty of chances to try them all!

  • Chewy Chocolate Crisp
  • Chocolate Fudge Brownie
  • Chocolate Cookie Dough
  • Chocolate Peanut Caramel
  • Fruit and Yogurt Trail Mix
  • Sweet & Salty Chocolate Almond
When you register on and set up a diet plan, there are tools that will help you succeed on your diet! You can set up your meal plan online, recipes, track your weight and provides a comprehensive progress report along the way to keep you motivated!
Now for the fun part…

Thank you so much for this post, I’d just like to say that I have used slim fast in the past, and it helped me so much! I would have a shake in the a.m. and it would keep me full untill late lunch. When I had my shakes I never thought about food. To manys surprise I think they taste amazing as well:) I also like to make my own flavors by adding the vanilla powder/milk in a blender with any fruit like blueberries or strawberries. YUMMY.
