Apple Walnut Salad Recipe for Summer

Summertime may be winding down, but here in South Florida, it’s warm all year round…and the heat isn’t going to give in anytime soon! Last week it was 104 degrees when I got into my car! Seriously, mother nature…how’s about you give Miami a rest?

We are knee-deep in BBQ season and I am racking my brain with ideas for side dishes to bring to my friend’s little backyard gatherings. Of course corn on the cob and baked beans always go well with BBQ, but sometimes a girl just wants to bring a cold, refreshing dish to lighten things up!

Our Apple Walnut Salad Recipe is crunchy and a bit tart with the granny smith apples, but then there’s a little sweet from the maple syrup. It’s really more tart than sweet, so expect a burst of crisp freshness on your tongue!

This is perfect because it really is a tasty, healthier type of salad, even if it does have the natural sugar of raisins and apples in it. You can easily get away with serving up this tasty little fruity salad during the meal AND STILL SERVE APPLE PIE FOR DESSERT!
