Slow Cooker Beef with Broccoli Recipe
This has a slightly sweet taste because of the brown sugar, which of course can be omitted if you aren't a fan. This Slow Cooker Beef with Broccoli recipe tastes like the usual Chinese take out but way BETTER! First off, it is fresh.
I mean you are cooking it in the comfort of your own home and you know first hand what a difference that can make! I went to my local supermarket and handpicked the ingredients myself and spent less that $15 making this recipe.
This recipe will serve 4 people a nice hearty portion, or if you live alone that is 3 extra meals you have for leftovers. You can choose to cook this recipe on low or high, I chose to cook it on low so the beef would be extra tender.
Why we love this Slow Cooker Beef with Broccoli Recipe
You can also omit the brown sugar and the sesame seeds if you want and that would even save you more money! I chose to serve this with delicious egg rolls and a nice glass of red wine, but it's your kitchen and that's what makes it so much fun.
You can decide to serve it with anything your heart desires. I decided to make this as I knew I would be going out of town that week, so by making this I had enough meals to pop in the microwave and reheat giving me more time for packing and running last minute errands.
The onions, mushrooms and the broccoli went together so well and absorbed some of the sauce but not too much. The beef was super tender just as I wanted it to be and practically melted in my mouth.
The beef broth and water evened out all the other flavors and it was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Might I add there was no MSG?! That's right, no migraines needed here!
I swear purchasing a slow cooker is probably one of the best investments you will ever make. It's a time saver for one, saves you money (no need to order takeout or get fast food) and is healthier. I chose to use chopsticks and go authentic, but if you aren't handy with using them, a fork will do just fine.
