This Skillet Cookie Recipe Stovetop is quite easy to make with the help of a Cast Iron Skillet!

    Cookie Skillet Recipe Stovetop

You can make a mini cast iron skillet cookie for individual cookies, or bake up a whole skillet for the family to show them how much you love them on Valentine's Day.

This M&Ms Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe was inspired by my Sausage Tortellini Skillet recipe that is such a great dinner idea, and this amazing Shepherd's Breakfast Skillet recipe. Cooking with a cast iron skillet is just so much fun and I love not having to use the oven when cooking!

Ingredients needed to make this Skillet Cookie Recipe Stovetop

Keep in mind, all of the ingredient amounts you’ll need are in the printable recipe card below.

M&MS and chocolate chip cookie made in a cast iron skillet on the stovetop
    • Butter
    • Brown sugar
    • Pure Vanilla Extract
    • Eggs
    • All Purpose flour
    • Baking soda
    • Salt
    • Mini chocolate chips
    • M&M candies

Instructions for making this Skillet Cookie Recipe Stovetop

This Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie is quite easy to make and really packs a punch when it comes to chocolate flavor!

Melt butter in a cast iron skillet. Remove from heat and pour butter into a large mixing bowl. Add brown sugar and pure vanilla extract and mix well. Stir in the eggs.

Add the all purpose flour, baking soda, salt and mix until combined. Fold in ½ cup of mini chocolate chips.

Spoon batter into skillet and sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips and red and pink Valentine's Day M&Ms candies.

Cook over medium heat for 22-28 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

How to clean your cast iron skillet

It is easiest to clean a cast iron skillet when it's still warm! Remove the giant cookie once it has cooled down a bit. Scrub off any stuck-on bits by scrubbing the pan coarse kosher salt and water. Then rinse or wipe it off with a paper towel.

Variations of this Skillet Cookie Recipe

You can make individual mini cast iron skillet cookies using mini cast iron skillets, or this giant cookie as directed in a 8 inch or 10 inch cast iron skillet.

    • Chocolate - add ¼ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder to the batter to make it a chocolate cookie.
    • Deluxe - add sprinkles or jimmies to the top of the batter once it is in the skillet for an extra pop of color!
    • Extra Chocolate - you can also use chocolate chunks instead of mini chocolate chips for an EXTRA dose of chocolate!

Equipment You Need to make this Cookie Skillet Recipe Stovetop

You can invest in a cookie cast iron skillet set or cast iron skillet cookie baking kit or just follow our easy instructions with a cast iron skillet that you already have at home.

I personally own a Kitchenaid stand mixer as well as an electric hand mixer - for this recipe, because it is so simple, I just used my electric hand mixer.

How to Store this Cookie Skillet Recipe

Keep the leftover Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie loaded with M&Ms candies in an airtight container up to 5 days.

You can also freeze the leftovers for up to a month! Just be sure to defrost it completely by leaving it at room temperature in an airtight container.
