    Peanut Butter Temptations

Cookies. It's all about the cookies - Peanut Butter Temptations Cookies to be exact. Cookies are my absolute favorite thing to bake, and I am constantly experimenting with new cookie recipes and ingredient substitutions.

    Peanut Butter Temptations

Why you are going to love our Peanut Butter Temptations

When Nestle Toll House introduced their new DelightFulls, my mind began racing! I love baking with Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chips at home, but what could I make with these tasty miniature peanut butter filled chocolate chips?! Because I love making things like Reeses peanut butter cup recipes, my first try was a recipe for these cookies that we will call Peanut Butter Temptations.

I have to admit that this spin on peanut butter cups are even more delicious than I thought they would be! Who needs old fashioned peanut butter cookies or chocolate chip cookies? Now you can have chocolate peanut butter cookies with a new view! You can still make your favorite Reeses peanut butter cups recipe, but this is an awesome variation of peanut butter blossoms or Reeses cup cookies!

This was inspired by my Peanut Butter Cookie Bars recipe on this site, and goes well with this Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcakes recipe.

How to Make Peanut Butter Temptation Cookies

I've been making this recipe for close to 20 twenty years. Yeah, I know. I just dated myself.

It's the "Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie" recipe from ABC Distributing's "Grandma's Favorite Cookies" cookbook. Did you ever work in an office that received the ABC Distributing catalog? It was so full of awesome stuff!!

I made just a few changes to the original recipe to suit Angeline's tastes - she isn't a fan of pecans in her cookies. It's a shame because my favorite cookie is a chocolate chip and pecan cookie, which is the original recipe that this recipe for Peanut Butter Temptations cookies is based on.

Nestle Toll House Delightfulls package and cookies

If you love peanut butter, but a full-fledged peanut butter cookie is just a little too much for your taste, this Peanut Butter Surprise Cookie is going to rock your world.

The peanut butter melts within the Nestle Toll House DelightFulls chocolate chip and when you bite into the cookie, it's like silky peanut butter goodness exploding on your tongue!

Disclosure: There is no real explosion.

a stack of cookies piled high on a napkin

Nestle Toll House DelightFulls Filled Baking Morsels are available in the baked goods aisle at your local grocery store in 9 ounce bags. They are available in the following flavors:

    • Milk Chocolate Morsels with Caramel Filling
    • Milk Chocolate Morsels with Peanut Butter Filling
    • Dark Chocolate Morsels with Mint Filling
    • Dark Chocolate Morsels with Cherry Flavored Filling

I know that everyone loves Reese peanut butter cup cookies recipes, but you can skip the Reeses recipes with these new Delightfulls! Reeses peanut butter cup cookie cups can be saved for another day and a different flavor you are craving!

Here are the ingredients you need to gather to get started making this Peanut Butter Temptations Cookies Recipe:

    • Milk and eggs - you can use whole, skim or low fat milk and either white or brown eggs
    • pure vanilla extract - remember, pure vanilla extract will lend a much nicer vanilla flavor than imitation vanilla flavoring!
    • baking soda and salt - we want those cookies to rise, after all!
    • light brown sugar - light brown sugar creates a richer flavor than just regular white sugar, aka granulated sugar
    • Crisco vegetable shortening - while you CAN use butter, I like vegetable shortening because it creates a much softer cookie inside!
    • all purpose flour - make sure to use all purpose flour and NOT cake flour!
    • Nestle Toll House DelightFulls peanut butter variety - we are going to use these in place of chocolate chips!

How to Make this Peanut Butter Temptations Cookies Recipe

You are going to begin by preheating your oven to 375 degrees and lining a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Beat together your Crisco vegetable shortening, pure vanilla extract, your packed brown sugar and milk at medium speed until it is all thoroughly combined.

Next you are going to add in your egg, the teaspoon baking soda and salt, and then beat everything together until they are thoroughly combined.

Now you are going to stir together flour and then beat until combined. Now stir in the Nestle DelightFulls.

Scoop rounded tablespoonfuls into one inch balls onto your parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 10 minutes. Allow them to cool on the pan for 2 minutes and then remove to a cooling rack to let them cool completely.

Top Tip for our Peanut Butter Temptations

If you prefer a crunchy cookie, bake for 11-12 minutes.

Variation of Peanut Butter Temptation Cookies

Now, I love this peanut butter temptations recipe as a cookie baked on a cookie sheet. However, some people would prefer to change things up and that's okay!

Adding creamy peanut butter - You can add ¼ cup peanut butter to make this more of a Reese peanut butter cookies recipe.

Using a muffin tin- You can try to make these cookies in paper bake cups or small muffin cups in a mini muffin pan. Just be sure to line small muffin tin with the liners or you will have to scrape the cookies out!
