What Is A Vegan Smoothie?
So many smoothies are made with dairy - whether that's Greek yogurt, whole milk, or even collagen protein.
A vegan smoothie is made without any animal products at all. Vegan smoothies are usually made with an assortment of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Common ingredients include apples, strawberries, kale, and even ginger. There are also many popular vegan juice and smoothie brands, with one of the most popular being Arden’s Garden in the south. In this tropical smoothie, I used coconut milk instead of dairy, and a combination of fruit. You won't miss the dairy at all!
Keep reading and you'll learn how healthy it is for you, too! Citrus fruits are super high in vitamin C, antioxidants, fiber, and natural sugar. This is a wonderful way to start your day!

You can use fresh fruit or frozen fruit when making mango pineapple smoothies, but we prefer frozen fruit. When using frozen fruit, you do not need ice cubes!
Why Use Coconut Milk In Smoothies
We are using Coconut Milk in this recipe for our mango pineapple smoothie. Not only does it lend to a more tropical flavor, but coconut milk makes this VEGAN too!
We are using the kind of coconut milk that comes in a carton, not a can.

FAQs
While this may not be a mango and pineapple smoothie for weight loss, it is still packed with the nutrients from the fruit. It has Vitamins A and C, as well as Iron and Calcium.
Coconut milk is known to increase the levels of HDL cholesterol in the body. Scientific research now shows that coconut milk may help to reduce the levels of LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) in the body if consumed in low quantities. HDL cholesterol has anti-inflammatory properties that protect the endothelium or blood vessel lining. LDL cholesterol, on the other hand, promotes the formation of plaques in blood vessels causing pathological narrowing. When blood vessels supplying the heart muscles are narrowed, heart attacks can result.
Coconut milk is a healthy substitute for individuals that are lactose intolerant. In addition, it contains Zinc, a mineral that aids in the renewal of the cells that line the intestinal wall.
The high fat in coconut milk acts as a sealant for moisture retention. When applied to the scalp, coconut milk can help reduce dandruff because it contains lauric acid that has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. When applied topically to the skin, it helps maintain the skin’s elasticity, reducing the formation of wrinkles. Its antibacterial properties are also said to contribute towards acne prevention.
Coconut milk is rich in short and medium chain triglycerides that are considered to be healthy fats. Short and medium chain triglycerides are more likely to be converted to energy as opposed to longer chain fatty acids.
