This Slow Cooker Sweet Potatoes and Apple Sauce Recipe is a great slow cooker recipe, it cooks well and tastes good. I absolutely love slow cooker recipes because they free up so much of my time.
This recipe could almost serve as a dessert! I spent about $8 on this recipe and it feeds up to eight people. The applesauce pairs extremely well with the sweet potatoes and cinnamon and nutmeg work together well. I LOVE to cook this for Thanksgiving dinner.
Slow Cooker Sweet Potatoes and Apple Sauce Recipe
Sweet potatoes are one of the healthiest vegetables on the planet. Not only are they pretty low in calories, but they are PACKED full of all kinds of nutrients.
Sweet Potatoes help to reduce inflammation, they are known to help to lower cholesterol, they are said to aid in fertility, help boost your immunity, fight diabetes...the list goes on and on.
I always like a little texture in my dishes, so the chopped pecans added just enough crunch. You can definitely omit them for allergy or palate reasons, but I wouldn't recommend it!
Preparation didn't take long, maybe about ten minutes or so, depending on fast you peel the potatoes...by now I'm a Pro. Nonetheless, it shouldn't take much more than 10 minutes. I don't ALWAYS cook this for Thanksgiving, it goes well all year through especially in the fall.
Since this dish is on the sweet side, you can definitely get 8 servings out of this! The aroma will fill the room and draw you in, and your home will smell great as well...Talk about a natural air freshener.
