Directions for How To Make million dollar cookies
We are going to first preheat our oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Hint: As our million dollar cookie recipes has a ton of butter, please do NOT grease your cookie sheet.
The most important part of making our Million Dollar Cookies is the browning of the butter. Take your time and pay close attention, as we want BROWN butter in this cookie recipe, and not BURNT butter.
Place your unsalted butter into a skillet or saucepan and heat it over medium heat.
Continue to whisk for about 5 to 6 minutes until the butter browns. You will see brown bits begin to form and then the butter will turn brown in color.
Whisk the butter frequently and cook it until it becomes a slightly brown butter. The butter will melt, bubble and froth and "puff up" in the pan.
Once your butter reaches the brown color, immediately remove it from heat and let it stand to cool for 5 minutes.
Add cooled brown butter, the dark brown sugar and the granulated sugar to a large mixing bowl and whisk well.
In a separate large mixing bowl, combine the all purpose flour, salt and 1 ½ teaspoon baking soda. Mix the dry ingredients together well.
Lastly, gently fold in the chocolate chunks.
Whisk in the eggs and egg yolks one at at time.
Gently pour the flour mixture to the large bowl containing the sugar and butter and mix it well until the cookie dough is thoroughly combined.
Using a 2 tablespoon portion cookie scoop, scoop your cookie dough into 48 rounds, and place them onto a cookie sheet. Refrigerate your uncooked cookie dough for about 30 minutes.
Depending on the size of your sheet, add 6-8 cookie dough balls to the baking sheet and bake for 14 minutes. Remove your cookies from the oven and let them stand to cool on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes before moving to a cooling rack to finish cooling completely.

How to Store your Million Dollar Cookies
You can store your cooked million dollar cookies in an airtight container on the counter for up to 5 days. You can also extend their shelf life, so to speak, by putting that airtight container in the fridge!
If you want to freeze these cookies, make sure that they are in an airtight, sealed cling wrap and aluminum foil and they should keep for up to a month. Just make sure that you defrost them all the way before serving. Those chocolate chunks will definitely do damage to your teeth if you bite into them while they are still frozen!
Top tip for the best million dollar cookies
The most important part of this recipe for million dollar cookies is the browned butter. Make sure that you use unsalted butter and keep a very close eye on the butter as it cooks! If your butter burns, just throw it out and start over. It will completely ruin the taste of the cookies if the butter is burned and not actually just lightly browned.

FAQs for baking our Million Dollar Cookies Recipe
We have gotten into the habit of lining a baking sheet when making cookies for a very good reason! Not only will the parchment paper help your cookies bake more evenly, but the nonstick quality of parchment paper also helps your cookies to prevent them from cracking or breaking when lifting them off the sheet.
There are just SO MANY different brands of chocolate chips and chocolate chunks on the market. While some people prefer the tried and true Nestle Tollhouse brand of chocolate chips, and some prefer lower sugar options like Enjoy Life chocolate chips - does it really matter? It does actually matter! When you are making a dessert recipe, try to use a brand of chocolate chips that are semi-sweet or bittersweet for the best taste. A lot of store brand or no name brands of chocolate chips are mostly filler ingredients and you can really taste the difference in the finished product of your baking recipe.
