Ah…UltraShape. Let me tell you a little something about UltraShape, okay? It’s pretty awesome. I’ve been dieting and exercising for about two months now, and I’ve had two UltraShape appointments (with one left to go) as part of this sponsored campaign. The results have left me VERY happy. You know all of those beach selfies you’ve seen all over Instagram this summer? Well, I’ll never be one of those women who plaster photos of them in a bikini all over social media, but I have become one of those women who feel much more confident in a bikini in general! I even snapped this little pic of my flat belly on the beach in Cancun in early August!
Pardon the awkward angle, I am not used to taking photos of myself in a bikini!
You can read all about why I wanted to participate in this campaign in this UltraShape blog post, and about my first UltraShape session here. Today, I want to talk to you about how my second appointment went and what a difference I am seeing in my belly!
This was before my first session…
And this is after my second session – just keep in mind that I’ve also been dieting and exercising during this time (which was about 5 weeks time) and had lost about 10 pounds as well.
I am still working on toning my abs – this is the hardest part of weight loss for me, as I am sure it is for most women who have had babies – but I am loving the results so far!
I love them so much, in fact, that I took these pics before heading out to the beach!
Just in case you missed the first two installments of my UltraShape series, here’s a little information about the UltraShape procedure that I am having done.
WHAT IS ULTRASHAPE?
UltraShape is the latest, FDA-cleared, non-surgical body-shaping procedure that uses pulsed, focused ultrasound technology to selectively and permanently destroy stubborn fat in the stomach region.
How does UltraShape work?
UltraShape ultrasound energy destroys the walls of fat cells in your body, releasing the fat in the form of triglycerides. The triglycerides are then processed through the liver and eliminated from the body naturally. The surrounding tissue, nerves, and muscle are left unharmed.
After you and your physician determine the exact treatment area, a specially designed belt will be wrapped around your abdomen and a soothing gel will be applied onto your skin. A trained UltraShape technician will glide the UltraShape transducer over the treatment area, gently delivering painless ultrasound pulses.
Now, just to keep this all 100% real, I have to tell you that while my first UltraShape appointment was 100% pain-free, I did experience some discomfort during my second appointment. My first session was so totally comfortable and when I felt that twinge of pain during my second session, it totally surprised me! Sometimes during the treatment, you’ll feel a warmth in your belly fat as the pulse moves through each area. It’s not uncomfortable at all – but during my second appointment, there were a few times when I felt a jab of heat to the point that it was hot. It wasn’t a terrible pain; it didn’t bring tears to my eyes or anything like that – but it was definitely uncomfortable for a few seconds. Fortunately, the technician moves the UltraShape machine over your stomach relatively quickly, and the discomfort only lasts as long as the ultrasound energy is being directed at that particular area. So for the few seconds it was targeting a specific area, I would feel discomfort, but as soon as she moved the machine to the next area, it went away.
My technician explained to me that the reason I felt the discomfort was that as they began targeting different areas of fat cells, those fat cells were being destroyed, so that the next time the ultrasound energy targeted them, there was less fat for the energy to pass through and I was feeling it in my muscle.
So basically, the discomfort meant that the process was working!
Hey, I’m not complaining. If a few seconds of discomfort can allow me to rock a bikini, BRING IT ON.
I am really happy with the progress I am seeing from my UltraShape sessions! I can’t wait to share my final results and photos with you!
