I don't know what to call this recipe really, so it's just Savory Bacon Appetizers...Savory Garlic & Bacon Appetizers...you can all it whatever you want, just know that you can call it delicious.
Utterly delicious. They are good hot and at room temp (cooled).

if you don't like a crunchy bread or appetizer, don't place the oil-topped bread in the oven and toast for five minutes. Just omit this step and you will have a little softer appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf french bread, sliced in to 1" pieces
- ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup bacon, cooked, crumbled or chopped into pieces
- ¾ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
- ½ cup black olives, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

Directions
In a bowl, mix together ¼ cup olive oil, bacon, Parmesan cheese, black olives, garlic and basil. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 375 and place french bread on a baking sheet. Lightly coat one side of the bread with olive oil. Bake for 5 minutes and remove from oven.
Top bread with topping and bake for 5-6 minutes or until heated through.
