- ยฝ cup all purpose flour
- ยฝ cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1-ยฝ teaspoons baking powder
- ยผ teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cold butter cubed
- ยผ cup plus 2 tablespoons half and half
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- โ cup diced apple peeled and cored
- coarse sea salt
- caramel ice cream topping

Apple Scones Recipe Steps
Here are some pictures showing you how I made this recipe.
Preheat oven to 400. Add both types of flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and mix well.
Use a pastry blender to cut butter into coarse crumbs.
In a separate small bowl, combine half and half, egg and vanilla and whisk well.

Add to dry mixture and mix until just combined.
Fold in apples.
Place dough onto a floured surface and knead ten times. The dough may be a little sticky, so add additional flour to knead.
Shape into a 5" circle about ยฝ" thick. Cut into four triangles and place onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Cool until warm, and drizzle with caramel topping and sea salt.
