- 1-½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
- ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons half and half
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ⅔ cup diced apple (peeled and cored)
- coarse sea salt
- caramel ice cream topping

Preheat oven to 400. Add flours, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl and mix well.
Use a pastry blender to cut butter into coarse crumbs.
In a separate small bowl, combine half and half, egg and vanilla and whisk well.
Add to dry mixture and mix until just combined.
Fold in apples.
Place dough onto a floured surface and knead ten times. Dough may be a little sticky, so add additional flour to knead.
Shape into a 5" circle about ½" thick. Cut into 4 triangles and place onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Cool until warm and drizzle with caramel topping and sea salt.
