Equipment That You Need in Your Rolo pretzel delights kit
We all know that using the wrong equipment can be just as detrimental in a recipe as using the wrong ingredients. For this Rolo pretzel recipe, we recommend using parchment paper or a silicone baking mat on top of your cookie sheet.
This will allow you to semi-melt the Rolo® pretzel delights without it sticking to the cookie sheet. You can find a link for an inexpensive silicone baking mat here.
Directions for How To Make Rolo Pretzel Delights
You have already begun to heat oven 250 degrees. Carefully slide parchment paper onto a cookie sheet or line cookie sheet with a silicone liner.
First, place one pretzel at a time onto the prepared sheet (lined with parchment paper or a silicone liner.). Second, add an unwrapped Rolo caramel piece to the corner of each pretzel. Make sure that they are spaced out enough, so you can add the rest of the goodies to one pretzel at a time without messing anything up.
Third, place the pretzels with candy in the oven for 1-2 minutes. You do not want the milk chocolate to melt, just soften slightly. Finally, remove your Rolo pretzels from the oven before they begin to melt. Again, we just want them to get warm enough for the candies to stick to them.
While they are still warm, sprinkle the top of each Rolo with gold sprinkles. Lastly, add one rainbow candy belt piece in front of each Rolo “Pot of Gold”.
Hint: Let your Rolo pretzel delights set for 15 minutes so that the chocolate re-hardens. In addition, you can place them in the fridge for a few minutes to speed this process up. Again, the important part is that they are hardened.
Top tip
Again, make sure to add the gold candy sprinkles to your Rolo Pretzel Delights as soon as they come out of the oven, otherwise they will not stick properly.
Variations to our Rolo pretzel delights recipe
Now, while there really isn't a lot that you can do to change this Rolo pretzel delights recipe up, as it will completely change the look of the cute little Pot of Gold.
- Pretzel Rolo peanut butter - If you like the taste of chocolate and caramel and peanut butter together, you can use peanut butter pretzels
- Rolo pecan delights - if you don't want to use the pot of gold, you can always replace the gold candy sprinkles with pecan halves and then call it a day
- Rolo pretzel M&M- you can also replace the candy belt with a green M&M and just have this be a Rolo Pretzel M&M treat
See this Christmas Rolo Snackcs version of this recipe on my website! Of course, it doesn't resemble a Pot of Gold for Saint Patrick's day, but it is one of the more traditional recipes with Rolos and pretzels.
How to store Rolo Pretzel Delights
You can easily make these Rolo Pretzel Delights ahead of time and serve them as a surprise on Saint Patrick's Day! Lastly, keep them stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
FAQ about our pretzels and Rolo candy recipe
You can freeze Rolo Pretzel Treats in a freezer bag and they will keep for up to 1 month. Let them defrost in the refrigerator until they are fully thawed out. There will likely be spots on the chocolate from the freezing and unfreezing process, but they will taste the same.
