This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Crystal Farms Cheese for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

As you might recall from previous posts, Chris and Angeline are both slightly lactose intolerant. They are fortunate in that they can have a small amount of dairy without upsetting their stomach, but we end up buying a lot of lactose free and lactose-tolerant dairy items so that they can eat what they want without worrying about an upset stomach later. I've always been able to find lactose-free milk, but lactose-free cheese was my unicorn! Well, guess who just found a lactose-tolerant cheese at her local grocery store? That's right, Crystal Farms Cheese is lactose-tolerant!

    Crystal Farms Cheese

Crystal Farms Cheese isn't some veggie-styled cheese substitute, it's REAL CHEESE.

The Crystal Farms brand is actually one of the largest cheese brands in the United States and has been around since 1926! Based in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, Crystal Farms is devoted to providing high quality, great tasting cheese for everyone - even those with tummy troubles.

Three cheers for lactose-intolerant folks everywhere!

Crystal Farms products are all natural, with few preservatives, gluten-free and a rich source of calcium.

We love broccoli and cheese as a side dish for dinner, but I rarely make it anymore because it upsets everyone's stomach. As soon as I found the Crystal Farms Cheese, I made a dish and it was barely cooled before Chris had a serving - for lunch! Hey, I told you we love it!

This Cheesy Broccoli Casserole recipe is SO easy to make, and it's a great way to get the kids to eat their green vegetables AND get one of their daily recommended servings of dairy.

    Crystal Farms Cheese Recipe

Even if you don't suffer from lactose intolerance, Crystal Farms cheese is super delicious and cheesy! I can't wait to use it in all of my recipes - as you can see, I bought most of their varieties.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups Crystal Farms Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese
    • 2 box 10 oz. frozen broccoli florets, thawed
    • ¼ cup plain dry bread crumbs [or Italian seasoned dry bread crumbs ]

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°. Combine Crystal Farms cheese with broccoli in 1-½-quart casserole.
    2. Evenly top with bread crumbs.
    3. Bake uncovered 20 minutes or until bread crumbs are golden and broccoli is tender.

Super easy, right? I told you so!

You can use fresh or frozen broccoli, just make sure that you thaw out the broccoli before you put it into the oven, otherwise it won't cook evenly and will make your casserole all soupy once it comes out of the oven.

Crystal Farms offers the following varieties:

Shredded Cheeses in Parmesan, Extra Sharp Cheddar, Mozzarella, Colby Jack, Mexican Blend, Regular Cheddar and 6 Cheese Italian.

They also have cream cheese, cheese sticks, sliced cheese, block cheese and specialty cheeses!

I can't wait to start experimenting with all kinds of recipes using Crystal Farms Cheeses!

Dairy allergies are becoming such a huge problem. My kiddo had a dairy intolerance but it was to the whey not the lactose. It makes it harder to find products he can actually eat.

You know what? Even though some recipes are designed for people with food sensitivities, they end up being way tastier than the traditional version. This looks so incredible and my lactose-loving family can't wait to try it.

I've had trouble with some milk products in the past so I've always wondered if I was intolerant. This sounds like a good brand for me. The casserole is right up my alley too!

My daughter has to limit her lactose thanks to tummy troubles from Celiac Disease. She'll be glad to know there's a cheese she can use.

I've used Crystal Farms products in the past. They are good quality and are generally a bit lower in price compared to some of the other brands. We use them often.
