Here are the ingredients you need to gather to get started making this Mini Chocolate Mousse Cups Recipe:
- 1 cup chocolate chips, milk chocolate OR semi sweet
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream divided
- ½ teaspoon vanilla

Directions for making this Mini Chocolate Mousse Cups Recipe
Place chocolate chips and ½ cup of whipping cream into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave at 100% powder for 60 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir until chocolate is completely melted.
Add vanilla and mix well. Set aside.
Add remaining 1-½ cups whipping cream and beat until stiff peaks form. Reserve ½ cup of whipped cream.
Pour chocolate into the whipped cream and mix well until evenly distributed.
Place chocolate mousse into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and pipe into serving dishes.
Place the bit of reserved whipped cream into a small piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe a small amount on the top of each serving of mousse.
Add your Valentine's day red and pink sprinkles and a little candy heart.
Refrigerate this simple dessert idea for 1 hour and serve or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

are we using semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips?

You can use milk chocolate OR semi sweet. You can even use dark chocolate if you like, but I find that it is too rich for my taste.
