I know, I know, Valentine's Day just passed last week, so why am I already throwing pretty green stuff at you? Well, if your life is anything like mine, it will be Saint Patrick's Day before you know it, and you don't want to be left without something fun to do with on the holiday! These St. Patrick's Day Candy Coated Pretzel Rods are so easy to make, you can make them now...and then again on Saint Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day Candy Coated Pretzel Rods

I think I might have to get creative and try to make different varieties for all of the upcoming holidays. It's so easy to throw these together, especially since I usually already have Wilton candy melts in the cabinets! Whenever I see them for 25% off at Joann Fabrics, I buy a few bags. I use them for so many different things, they are a necessary part of my baking stash! If you don't have a Joann's near you, you can always order Wilton Dark Green Candy Melts on Amazon.com.

If you have little ones, these St. Patrick's Day Candy Coated Pretzel Rods are a great way to get your kids in the kitchen so that you can spend a little quality time together. You can have them dip the pretzel rods into the chocolate or even just add the sprinkles. I think treats just taste better when our kids have helped us make them, what do you think?

St. Patrick's Day Candy Coated Pretzel Rods

Ingredients you will need to make our St. Patrick's Day Candy Coated Pretzel Rods

    1 Bag pretzel rods
1 Bag Wilton Dark Green Candy Melts
1 Container Wilton Shamrock Sprinkle Mix
    Wax paper
    Plates for drying pretzels on
    Deep bowl
    Spoon

Directions for how to make our St. Patrick's Day Candy Coated Pretzel Rods

Place the bag of green candy melts into the bowl and microwave for 1 minute and stir. Continue to microwave the candy melts for 30 seconds at a time and then stir until they are completely melted.

Line a plate with wax paper for the pretzels to dry on.

Hold a pretzel rod over the bowl of candy melts angled down. Start spooning green candy over the end of the pretzel rod, you can choose how much of the pretzel you want to cover in the candy.

Shake off the excess candy over the bowl, and place the pretzel rod on the wax paper lined plate to dry.

Sprinkle each pretzel rod with the St. Patrick's Day sprinkles before it is fully dry. I found that doing it this way was much easier than trying to add the sprinkles while holding the pretzel rod in the air.

When dried completely, enjoy your pretzel rods, place in a container for storage, or place in clear candy bags for gifting.

Hello there! I found your website from the Saturday Night Fever Link Up party. And I LOVE this idea for chocolate covered St. Patrick's Day pretzels. You can't go wrong with chocolate covered pretzels...not in my book.
