When we’re young, fresh, and ready to frolic, we can get away with near enough anything. A night on the town leaves us with nothing more than a sore head. And, lousy beauty habits have no impact on our skin whatsoever.
But, with the onward march of age, even a sip of alcohol leaves us in bed for two days. And, the slightest mistake with skincare leaves us looking haggard beyond belief. It’s a depressing state of affairs. Suddenly, the body you thought would never let you down is doing nothing but.
And, if you don’t listen to what it’s telling you, you could do untold damage to your health and your skin. So, you should probably take note of mother nature here and change your actions at least a little. But, while avoiding a hangover is as easy as not drinking, getting on top of beauty is more complicated.
In truth, there’s no sure advice about what you should do to keep your skin fresh through your later years. But, we can at least tell you about the skincare mistakes you shouldn’t make. You might have gotten away with these when you were young, but bad beauty is as terrible for your skin as alcohol is for your liver. So, make sure you cut these habits.
Going to bed with a face full of makeup
When you were young, it’s possible you didn’t ever take your makeup off. All the better for rolling out of bed and only having to touch up. And yet, when you did get around to washing, your skin was still as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Now, though, even just one night with makeup on could spell trouble. As well as clogging your pores and creating spots, not giving your face space to breathe increases the appearance of pores. And, that’s only going to make any wrinkles more obvious.
Only using one cream
Most of us turn to moisturization in our twenties. In those early years, one pot of Nivea is all it takes to hydrate. As you get older, though, using one cream is a mistake. As well as that staple moisturizer, you’ll want to invest in day and night creams, eye creams, and even anti-aging options. You might think this is unnecessary expense, but as can be seen from the testaments like those in this Lifecell review, the right product really does have the ability to reduce wrinkles. So, forget that one-pot option. You need at least three creams on the go if you want to keep on top of things.
Slapping on the makeup
When we’re young, more makeup is better. You can wear eyeshadow and lipstick and look glamorous. But, when you reach a certain age, slapping on the makeup makes you look clownish. What’s more, extreme foundation and eyeshadow are only going to highlight imperfections. Instead, you should definitely strip it back. A little eyeliner and lipstick are sure to look more flattering than a full face of slap.
