Many people head home for the holiday season. It’s a great time to catch up with the family, unwind and enjoy some downtime. However, you have to get to your home town and this can be done by car, plane or train. You can even coach it effortlessly across the country!

Oregon
The holiday season is the perfect time to visit Oregon which has been named the Christmas tree capital of the world!
Its 137 miles from Portland to Oregon and back again. On the way you can experience Mount Hood as it sits on top of a dormant volcano. You can even get a sleigh ride at Government Camp and experience the amazing lights and music in Oregon on the Christmas Fantasy trail.
Escape the City: New York to Pennsylvania
Once you finished enjoying the shopping experience on 5th Avenue you can head out of town. Your route should take you through the Rockwell countryside and you can experience skiing at Holimont, a private ski resort.
You can then drive through the evergreen forest and reach your destination to try pond skating, sledging and a little more skiing.
Burlington to Jackson
This 142 mile trip will take you from industrial America to the White Mountains where you can imagine seeing Santa Claus and his elves. The snow topped mountains are very popular with skiers and covered in red bridges which stand out from vast distances.
On the way you can experience sledging, skiing or just enjoy creating snowmen and snow angels.
Nevada & Utah

Minnesota to Wisconsin
This will be like a journey back in time! Drive from Duluth and you’ll be almost immediately in Wisconsin state. However, the real destination should be the ice caves on the Bayfield Peninsula. If you ever wanted to feel like you’re experiencing the Ice Age or just want to appreciate natures beauty then this is the destination for you.
During the holiday season the ice should be thick enough to be safely walked on and you can experience the caves in their natural state, icicles and all.
Of course, you can always squeeze in a little skiing and enjoy the amazing Christmas light display as well.
