Here's what I used to make the savory shrimp fried rice recipe. All the ingredients you need are listed right here, but you'll find their exact amounts in the recipe card at the end of the post.
- Olive oil
- Sesame oil
- Jumbo raw shrimp (deveined, shell and tail on)
- Frozen peas, corn and carrots
- Minced garlic
- Eggs, beaten
- White rice, cooked and cooled
- Soy sauce
- Green onions, sliced
- Ground black pepper

How To Make Shrimp Fried Rice

Add olive and sesame oil to a large skillet and heat until hot. Add shrimp, in a single layer, and cook, about 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking until shrimp is pink. Remove shrimp from pan and set aside, keeping warm.
In the same skillet, add vegetables and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
Push vegetables to the edge the pan and pour the eggs into the center. Cook for 2-3 minutes, scrambling eggs.
Stir well. Add rice and soy sauce and mix well until heated through.
Serve fried rice topped with shrimp and chopped green onions.
Season with pepper if desired.
Substitutions And Variations
- Use smaller shrimp or shrimp with the tail and shell removed.
- Saute fresh vegetables instead of frozen.
- Use leftover brown rice instead of white rice.
Top Tips For Making The Best Shrimp Fried Rice
- I bought a bag of mixed veggies and took out the green beans! That's how the trio of frozen veggies exists! You could do a third cup of each, or just sort like I did!
- Make the rice a day ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
- To make it spicier, add some red pepper flakes.
