How to Make Angel Food Cake Mix Cookies
Once you have your simple ingredients prepped and ready, it’s time to get baking!
Prepare the dough by combining the angel food cake mix, water and egg in a bowl until blended together completely.
Next, use a cookie scoop to scoop teaspoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake your Angel Food Cake Cookies in the preheated oven 8-10 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
Hint: Use a new piece of parchment paper for each set of cookies you put into the oven, as even though this is an easy recipe, we are not using non stick cooking spray, so the cookies do stick to the parchment paper.
Allow them to cool on the cookie sheet before transferring them to a cooling rack or plate. Enjoy your freshly made angel food cake mix cookies!

- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Mix together cake mix, water and egg in a mixing bowl until combined well. Using a 2 tablespoon portion scoop, scoop batter onto prepared baking sheets, keeping cookies about 3" apart as they spread.

Angela Kopszywa says
I made these cookies this week but used a slightly different recipe. Mine called for 1/3 cup water instead of 1/2 cup. Mine came out having a twangy, lemony flavor that I didn't like at all! I'm sure it's because of the meringue powder in the cake mix because I use it in my royal icing and it has that lemony flavor until I get it on my cookies. Are they supposed to taste lemony/twangy?Do you have any idea WHY they taste that way or what I may have done?? I love the texture of them but I just can't handle that lemony flavor.
Jenn says
I am sorry you didn't like your recipe - I can't really give you any advice because I've never tried that recipe myself.
Susan says
Haven't made these yet and am wondering if I can use silicon cookie liners instead of parchment paper?
Jenn says
I’m curious as to if they would still come out as crisp. Let me know if you give it a try with silicone!
Susan says
I made a tray with each, and silicone definitely wins. Just as crispy with less hassle. I found that using a dough scraper instead of a spatula made removing the cookies easier. Also would suggest a 1- Tbsp cookie scoop because these cookies REALLY spread!
Tammy Rogers says
Do you have any advice on using a jello flavor in them?
Jenn says
I think any flavor would work!
Sue Snoke says
I have not made these YET! I was wondering, if I use Jello for flavor, would I just dump the Jello in as I am mixing the other stuff? Does Jello change the texture?
Jennifer says
If you are adding jello, mix it in with the other ingredients before you mix everything together. It will make the texture a little chewier.
laura says
half a cup of water just makes the batter runny, it should be 1/3 instead.
Jennifer says
You can definitely make thicker cookies with just 1/3 cup of water, but these are supposed to be thin and crispy.
