With the existing and rapidly escalating climate crisis threatening us, it is crucial to follow an environmentally-friendly lifestyle in whatever aspects we can. We can’t emphasize enough how vital it is becoming for us to start taking the necessary steps in everything we do to save the globe.

One such major factor includes traveling, which have a huge impact on the environment. A small holiday can leave a massive brunt on the planet, which has led to an increase in eco-tourism around the world, making people more conscious about traveling. As more and more people are getting aware of the term eco-tourism and sensible tourism, it is time for you to practice it now.

Here are 5 tips that you can follow to make your holiday more eco-friendly

10 Ways To Welcome More Travel Into Your Life

1.The first step is always packing

Not only should you pack lightly, you should also pack smartly. Using backpacks that are eco- friendly and super sturdy can help you move efficiently through long distances and also reduce the carbon footprint. Also, using eco-friendly wrapping paper or reusable containers instead of plastic cling film or aluminum foils for your snacks is extremely helpful.

2. Use public transportation

Using public transportation instead of private cabs in a foreign land can not only reduce carbon emissions, but also give you the opportunity of being more aware of the place, along with interacting with the local people. Also, I need not mention that it is way cheaper than private commute.

3. Sustainable hotels

A lot of hotels and public accommodations are incorporating waste management, renewable energy, and recycling initiatives. This is an impressive tactic and gives us the hope that eco-tourism around the world is spreading rapidly. Choosing accommodations that practice energy-efficient initiatives is a major step towards traveling in an eco-friendly manner. There are a few hotels in Norway and Argentina which are taking it extremely seriously.

4. A huge no to bottled water!

There are millions of plastic bottles being used for water daily, and these non-biodegradable monsters just keep piling up, adding to the climate crisis. A tiny, thoughtful step you could take is to carry a reusable water bottle and refill from water filters, which are easy to find at almost every place nowadays.

5.  Switch to better flying options

If you are traveling not-so-long distances, it is always better to choose trains over airplanes. Airplanes leave an imaginable amount of carbon footprint, which is hugely adding up day by day. Traveling through trains can provide you the luxury you need with upgrades, and you can save the hassle of checking in and waiting for long hours at the airport. If you are out for an adventure, train rides are always exciting and can provide you with picturesque sights along the way. See? If you think about it, it’s not a bad idea after all to make the switch.

These are some major factors that can hugely impact the environment because traveling has the worst impact on the climate and the planet. You not only travel consciously, but also take tiny steps to make the planet a better place to live in. How do we travel around the globe if we do not save it first?
