It's 5 o'clock on the Carnival Vista! Do you know where your next libation is coming from? Check out our Guide to Carnival Bars on the Carnival Vista!
Last week I presented you with the Complete Guide to Food on the Carnival Vista. Now here's a list of bars on Carnival's newest ship for those of you who prefer a liquid lunch.
Havana Bar
This popular bar specializes in mojitos but you can get pretty much anything you desire. Some nights the dance floor heats up with passengers doing salsa and merengue. (Pro Tip: Ask for a dry mojito if you aren't into sweet cocktails)
RedFrog Pub & Brewery
Hand-crafted beer is actually brewed on board in Carnival Cruise Line’s first brewery! (see my review here) Specialty craft beers have been developed in collaboration with Miami-based Concrete Beach Brewery. Here you will find a holy trinity: ThirstyFrog Port Hoppin’ IPA, ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat and FriskyFrog Java Stout.
Pro Tip: If you don't want to wait, use your room key and pour yourself a cold one at the "Pour Your Own Beer" stations. I'm becoming a PRO at this!
SkyBox Sports Bar
You don't have to miss out on the game when on vacation. Vista has your sports (and beer) needs covered at its sports pub.
Pro Tip: If you are at the casino bar and it's crowded, sneak into the SkyBox Sports Bar for a drink.
Alchemy Bar
Alchemy Bar is by far the most unique concept in drinking on board the Carnival Vista. It is conveniently located mid ship in between Bonsai Sushi and the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse.
It also has a pretty good view looking down into the casino bar and the Dreamscape funnel. Bartenders in lab coats mix up uniquely named elixirs to cure what ails you.
Pro Tip: Sign up for the mixology class. You'll get to make and sample cocktails and then get a voucher for a martini which makes the class practically free!
Plaza Bar
Great place to grab a drink to go with a tiny bite from the Taste Bar. Also, the live music here was amazing.
Vista Atrium Bar
This is the first bar you will see when boarding Vista. It's a fantastic spot for a pre-dinner drink as it sits just outside of the dining room. Also, it's home to Dreamscape, a funnel LCD screen with stunning digital imagery that is constantly changing.
Casino Bar
The casino bar is where you'll find the other Dreamscape funnel. Gather round and listen to the sounds and excitement of all the slot, roulette, craps and blackjack players. If you're traveling solo and are a smoker, I recommend visiting the casino bar because I ALWAYS make friends there - the same people will sneak down throughout the day to smoke and before you know it, they're Facebook friend requesting you and you're planning another cruise TOGETHER!
Pro Tip: This is the only bar you can smoke at inside the ship.
The Library Bar
Kind of a hidden gem. Tucked away and very private. (Pro Tip: You can pour your own wine by the glass here)
Limelight Lounge
Take in a comedy show inside the Limelight Lounge while sipping something strong. Limelight Lounge is also home to the Punchliner Comedy Club so cocktails have names like the Witty Margarita, Sex on the Stage and the Giddy Cosmo.
Piano Bar 88
Yep. It is just what it sounds like.
Gather round the piano and sing along to classic bar tunes, while sipping cocktails from the fully stocked bar!
Serenity Bar
In the adults only area of the ship you will find the Serenity Bar...and lots of adults relaxing and recharging. It's a little oasis at sea!
Grab a drink and flop down on the deck in one of the round loungers.
Tides Bar
Located in the rear of the ship, this bar services the smaller tides pool and hot tubs.
RedFrog Rum Bar
For the sun seekers, the Red Frog Rum Bar is located on the perimeter of the pool deck and provides great views of the ocean as well as people watching.
BlueIguana Tequila Bar
Rum not your thing? Located directly across from the Red Frog Rum Bar is the BlueIguana Tequila Bar.
Hopefully that's enough for you to whet your whistle while sailing the high seas!
Special thanks goes out to Carnival for hosting me on the Vista for the purpose of this travel piece. All opinions are of course my own.
