Here is a delicious - and deliciously easy - Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken Recipe that your entire family will absolutely love!
I love slow cooker recipes as I am always on the go, it is hard for me to find the time to squeeze out a delicious meal that doesn't need constant supervision.

Why we love this Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken
I decided to make this dish after realizing the house could not clean itself, and I knew I had to do a lot of spring cleaning. I was in the mood for something Asian-like, and my all time favorite when ordering out is honey garlic chicken hands down!
You can swap chicken breasts for a boneless, skinless chicken thigh as well. I opted to use boneless skinless chicken breast as I already had some in the freezer, and omitted the crushed red pepper as heat doesn't always agree with me.

I follow the recipe and the exact steps. Every time I make this it turns out in a broth like sauce-very runny. Any suggestions on what may be wrong? The sticky coating looks so delicious!
Bonne Cohn says
Looks like the directions forgot to instruct us to coat the chicken in cornstarch and then add sauce
Jenn says
No, the instructions are there. You add the sauce AND then add the cornstarch.
A says
The instructions have cornstarch in the ingredients but never mention what to do with it. Do we coat the chicken? Make a slurry and add it in at the end? Not clear.
Jenn says
Pour cornstarch over chicken, mixing well. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
Shaena says
I followed all instructions. Yes, it does explain the cornstarch. However it is very soupy and the color and texture are completely different. It's a light colored gravy. Not sure what went wrong. Disappointed 😞
Jenn says
Oh no! I am sorry that it didn't work out for you. I wonder if any of your ingredients were expired?

Try placing a kitchen towel over your crock pot before you place the lid onto the pot. There is usually a good bit of rain out and that places extra liquid on the food. Condensation does form on the lid and the towel will help catch the extra water. For dishes that I want to have a thicker base, I do this trick and it helps keep the dish from watering down too much.
