Fried rice is a really easy way to use leftover rice. It usually uses small, diced vegetables, eggs, and sometimes incorporates a protein (like chicken or pork).
There are a ton of different ways to make fried rice, but I made a simple recipe anyone can make.

How to make this Easy Fried Rice Recipe

Ingredients
Here is what you'll need from the store before you make fried rice. All the exact ingredient amounts are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Cooked Rice
- Butter
- Onion, diced
- Frozen Peas and Carrots
- Soy Sauce
- Eggs

Directions
Here are some photos showing you how I made this simple fried rice in my kitchen!
First, melt butter in a large non-stick skillet.
THen, dice your onion into small pieces and transfer into the hot skillet with your butter.
Sautee the onion until they are transparent.
Add your peas and carrots to the onion mixture in the skillet and cook until they are thawed and tender.
Scramble your eggs in a small bowl.
Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add in the scramble eggs in other side, cooking until they are set.
Mix the eggs and vegetables together in your skillet. Then add the soy sauce and stir it all up very well to mix.
Add rice gradually to keep it from clumping and ensure it is well mixed.
Heat until hot and serve!
Fried Rice Tips
- Make it spicier with a dash of Sriracha
- Cook your rice a day before and store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container
- Use teriyaki sauce instead of soy sauce
- Add some nutty notes by adding a splash of sesame oil
- It's a great way to use leftover cooked shrimp, chicken, or pork chops.

Ingredients
- 4 cups Cooked Rice
- 3 tablespoon Butter
- 1 Onion diced
- 12 oz Frozen Peas and Carrots
- ½ cup Soy Sauce
- 3 beaten Eggs
Instructions
- Melt butter in large non stick skillet.

- Add peas and carrots and heat until thawed and tender.
- Push vegetables to one side and scramble eggs in other side until set.
- Mix teggs and vegetables together.
- Add soy sauce and stir to mix.
- Add rice gradually to keep it from clumping and ensure it's well mixed.
