I recently sailed on the Celebrity Edge as a complimentary guest in order to check it out and share the awesomeness of this brand new Celebrity Cruise Line ship with you - the first in the new EDGE class.
After the Celebrity Edge ship’s first-ever, 15-day transatlantic crossing, it arrived in Hollywood, Florida, at the Port Everglades Terminal, which fortunately for me - is super close and very convenient to get to from my home in Miami.
Celebrity Cruise Line Edge
I took a video of our stateroom on Celebrity Cruise Line as soon as we got settled in, as I have never seen a room like this before...and as you know, I have cruised many - and I do mean MANY - cruise ships over the last decade. It was spacious, luxurious - and left plenty of room for all of our luggage.
Even the bathroom - which we all know can be very small and cramped on cruise ships - was spacious and lovely!

I was absolutely blown away by the stateroom, even before seeing the rest of the ship, I was already incredibly impressed! The Celebrity Edge staterooms feature larger living areas, bigger bathrooms, and a king-size bed in 99% of our rooms.
This is an industry first for premium cruise lines, plus Celebrity’s eXhale™ bedding featuring the Cashmere Mattress (which is like sleeping on a cloud!). There are 178 possible options of connecting staterooms, so if you're traveling with friends and family, it makes it so easy to stick together!
The Celebrity Edge cruise ship has a capacity of 2900 passengers!
There were so many features to the Celebrity Edge stateroom that I have never experienced, like this amazing balcony, that opens and closes, rolls back - all with the touch of a button!
Check out Bri and I freaking out with excitement. I know, it's the little things in life, people!
Okay, so now you've seen the stateroom, so let's talk about a little bit of the official stuff before I share about the rest of this amazing ship!
Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Richard D. Fain, said: “The arrival of Celebrity Edge today book-ends a major chapter in the growth of Celebrity Cruises. It’s the culmination of years of dreaming, designing and dedication to bring this magnificent ship to life. A new era is truly upon us.”
“The completion of her first-ever transatlantic crossing and arrival at T25 marks such a historic moment for Celebrity Cruises. This has been more than four years in the making. The collaboration and effort between teams across the world all comes together in this incredible moment. I can think of no better place to be than with Captain Costas and the crew of Celebrity Edge knowing that we are sailing into the future, literally and figuratively, with this beautiful ship.”
After the arrival of Celebrity Edge at T25, Lutoff-Perlo and Fain then hosted a grand opening ceremony in the revolutionary new terminal.
Attended by key brand executives and esteemed Broward County and City of Hollywood officials, the dramatic ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the official grand opening of the first terminal designed exclusively for the Celebrity brand, dubbed the new home of modern luxury.
Brought to life in collaboration with Broward County’s Port Everglades, Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Inc. and Moss Construction, T25 melds a stunning, warmly inviting design with unique technology, such as Expedited Arrival, which will make the check-in process absolutely seamless, as well as an interactive light wall art installation.
T25 will also offer The Retreat guests a singular experience along the path to The Retreat, with an exclusive lounge, elevator lobbies, screening areas and even a private rooftop terrace.
There are so many things to do and see on the Celebrity Edge cruise ship - but three separate things really stuck out for me...the pool (of course!)...
Oh - and do you see that pod-looking thing? That is actually a hot tub - and there were several spread out over the pool area, with fantastic views of the ocean!
The pool area has plenty of lounge chairs - some even IN the pool itself, there's also a great bar right there, with of course, servers to bring you cocktails while you're sunbathing in utter relaxation.
Oh, and there is plenty of entertainment! On our last day, we had a fashion show with a bit of acrobatics thrown in! It was truly amazing to watch!
That commenced into an all out pool party, which was one of the highlights of the day!
The Rooftop Garden and Bar, which has plenty of beautiful scenery and GAMES! Yes, games to play, like Jenga, which is my all-time favorite!
So let's talk about the food, shall we? There are a total of 15 restaurants and cafes on the Celebrity Edge cruise ship. The food served both in the sit-down dining rooms and buffet areas were delicious, gourmet.
If you are a seafood fan, then you're going to LOVE Raw on 5.
Even the macaroni and cheese served in the buffet was some of the best I've ever had. I consider myself to be a macaroni and cheese aficionado, so that's say a lot coming from me!
There are also a total of 10 bars and lounges across the ship, so you'll be happy to find a cocktail wherever you are!
Whether it's sipping drinks poolside, something a little more elegant, or wanting to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sunset - the Celebrity Edge has you covered!
Celebrity Edge begins her inaugural season sailing alternating seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruise itineraries, with her Maiden Western Caribbean voyage departing on December 9, 2018, and her Maiden Eastern Caribbean voyage departing on December 16, 2018. Then, in spring of 2019, Celebrity Edge crosses the Atlantic again to offer guests stunning vistas of the Mediterranean with a range of seven- to 11-night sailings visiting iconic cities, including Barcelona and Rome.
