No matter what hair type you have, you’ll want your locks to look healthy and amazing. There are so many products out there today that things can get a little confusing. It can be tricky to know which one you should go for and if it really does what it says on the tin. To take away some of the stress, we’re stripping things back to basics. For hair that looks and feels beautiful, try these 9 Natural Treatments For Super Healthy Hair.

9 Natural Treatments For Super Healthy Hair

    Coconut oil

‘Copra’ is the word used to describe the dry meat of the coconut (or the kernel). Coconut oil is extracted from the copra and then purified. This is the process followed to make refined coconut oil. With virgin coconut oil, the fresh coconut meat is dried out and then the oil is pressed later. Coconut oil is incredibly versatile; you can use it on your skin or for cooking. What we are most excited about though are the excellent benefits that coconut oil has for your hair! Coconut oil is a fantastic moisturizer to keep the hair smooth. Using coconut oil helps to prevent brittle hair and split ends. If you’re bothered by those pesky breakages this is a great solution! Coconut oil also works to slow down hair loss and stimulates hair growth too. If you want hair that’s shiny and soft to the touch- look no further. (With oily hair, you’ll want only what to use this stuff sparingly. If you have dry hair- feel free to use a large amount!)

For hair that looks and feels beautiful, try these 9 Natural Treatments For Super Healthy Hair.

    How to use it?

Use coconut oil by applying it to damp or dry hair. Massage it through your hair or comb through to spread it evenly. You should leave the oil in your hair overnight to work its magic. Wash the oil out in the morning for a super healthy shine! If you have dry and curly hair, you can use coconut oil much like you would use a leave-in conditioner. Style your hair as normal and you're good to go.

    Avocados

Avocados aren’t just a delicious brunch-time go-to, these lovelies can work wonders for your hair too. The fruit is packed with amino acids which can help lock moisture into your hair. Avocados have lots of antioxidants which can stop free radicals from damaging your hair. Why not mix avocado with coconut oil and apply both? You can leave this hair mask on for around 40 mins and then wash it off in the shower. You’ll simply be addicted to the silky smooth finish of this powerful and all-natural hair mask. The vitamins B and A found in avocados will leave your hair super nourished.

    Bananas

If you want your hair to look beautiful- it’s all about the bananas! Bananas are packed which vitamins, natural oils and potassium. Such ingredients will help to keep your hair soft and prevent split ends too. Bananas can give your hair an awesome shine as well as helping to combat dandruff. As well as this, the potassium in bananas can help to keep your hair thick and strong.

To make yourself a lovely hair mask, mash avocado and bananas together in a bowl. Stir the mixture up until it is smooth and then massage the paste all through your hair. You can leave this on for around 30 mins to do its thing before rinsing off. After a few avocado and banana hair masks, you’ll find that your hair is in far better condition. If you’re someone who straightens your hair often, it’s particularly important to try and repair some of the damage. It’s better to use a blow dryer to straighten your hair. You can use the straighteners simply to finish it off. This way,  less direct and harmful heat is applied to your hair. If you don’t have a good hairdryer, you’ll want to check out some of those black friday hair dryer deals! When it comes to your hair, you won’t want anything less than the best.

    Honey

For a truly sweet hair care treatment, raid your cupboards for some honey! Honey has antibacterial properties, so if your someone who’s prone to dandruff or eczema, honey can be a great choice. Honey works to strengthen hair follicles and prevent hair damage with its antioxidants. If you use honey on your hair, you’ll seal in the moisture and stop it from drying out. Honey is of course pretty sticky, so you might want to mash it together into a paste with banana before applying it to your hair. Again, you’ll only need to leave it to soak in for around 30 mins before you wash it out. After a few short honey sessions, you’ll know what all the fuss is about!

    Olive oil

If you haven’t tried olive oil on your hair yet, you’re really missing out! Olive oil is full of emollients such as oleic and palmitic acid. These can help to make your hair soft and to prevent your hair from tangling. Olive oil also contains vitamin E, which can help protect your hair from free radicals. If you have dandruff, olive oil can help to ease the appearance and the associated inflammation of the scalp. As well as this, the fatty acids and nutrients in olive oil can help to keep your hair strong. Use olive oil the same as you would use a conditioner after shampooing. Just ensure that you wash it out so that you don’t end up with greasy hair. When you’ve got dry hair, you might be able to get away with using a little more oil.

    Apple cider vinegar

It might sound crazy, but apple cider vinegar is actually great for the hair. Apple cider vinegar can help to fight split ends and leave your hair looking smooth and soft. It’s also been praised for helping to restore the pH balance of your scalp. You can dilute it with water and use it as a tonic to rid your hair of bacteria and dirt. (Plenty of people aren’t keen on their hair smelling of vinegar but don’t worry, once you wash it out the smell is gone)!

    Eggs

Eggs are full of minerals and proteins that are fabulous for hair growth. It’s the B-complex vitamins in particular that help to strengthen the roots of the hair and prevent hair loss. The fats found in eggs will also help to condition your hair. If your hair is oily, just use egg whites on your hair. For normal hair, use up the whole egg. With oily hair treat the yokes as a moisturizer for your hair and scalp. Leave the eggs in your hair for around 15-20 minutes. Make sure that you only use cold water when you dry off your hair (so that you don’t end up nearly cooking the egg)! It can feel a bit strange smearing your hair with eggs at first, but believe us once you start reaping the rewards- you won’t think twice!

    Natural Yogurt

Some of the best hair care solutions can be found in your very own fridge. If your hair is prone to frizz, some natural yogurt can really help to moisturize it. Yogurt can also help to fight dandruff due to its antifungal abilities. Yoghurt contains lactic acid, which will help to rid your hair of dirt and grease. Massage some natural yogurt into your hair and then leave it for about twenty minutes. You’ll turn dull hair into shiny and vibrant hair in no time at all. Some people also like to use a little sour cream on their hair (for similar effects). What you waiting for, it’s time to raid the fridge again! When your hair looks great you’ll be more inclined to try some super cute hairstyles.

    Lemon

For those with dry hair, lemon can be an excellent solution. Lemons can help to boost hair growth with their vitamin C content. Lemons can also clean your scalp and get rid of any dry skin or dandruff. The acidity can prevent hair loss by strengthening the hair follicles. Simply squeeze a lemon into a bowl and then massage the juice into your hair. You can leave the juice in your hair for around fifteen minutes before washing it out. Why not add the juice to olive oil for a fuller hair mask experience. Most of these ingredients can be put together in one mask. Feel free to get creative and see what you can mix up!

9 Natural Treatments For Super Healthy Hair

There are so many expensive hair products out there, and so sometimes we end up spending a fortune. The problem is we really don’t need to! Products like coconut oil are super affordable. The rest of these ingredients are probably things you’ll have around the house anyway. For some treatments to keep your hair looking stunning, you don’t even have to look very far. When it comes to hair care, simple things like staying hydrated and getting enough sleep can keep your hair healthy. Vitamin D is also great for the hair, so don’t forget to get out in the sunshine.
