    This is such a fun recipe to make, but be warned that you need to use a little force when cutting the gum drops. It is a little challenging to cut the gumdrops - I actually got a little blister on my finger from cutting them! But it is all good, the results were worth it in the end for sure!

    Keep in mind, all of the ingredient amounts you’ll need are in the printable recipe card below! But this is a super simple dessert to make, with just 5 ingredients!

    Go ahead and set our your Butter because you get started, so that it has a chance to begin to soften. 

    White Chocolate Chips - the better quality the chocolate, the tastier this Gum Drop Nuget Candy will be!

    Mini Marshmallows - You might want to buy an extra bag, because if you are anything like me, you will find yourself snacking on them while you are preparing the candy recipe!

    Pink Gel Food Coloring - The pinker, the better!

    Red Gumdrops - I purchased 3 of the "Theater Box" size of Dots candy at the store and picked out all of the red ones to get enough gumdrops for this Nuget candy recipe!

    Valentine's Day Nougat Candy Recipe

    Directions for making this Valentine's Day Nougat Candy Recipe: 

    Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

    Add butter, chocolate chips and marshmallows to a very large saucepan and heat over medium low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is completely melted. This takes some time, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from heat and fold in food coloring.

    Mix until evenly colored. Cool for 2 minutes. Fold in gumdrops.

    Spread mixture into prepared pan.

    Add reserved gumdrops to the top and gently press into the candy.

    Let stand to cool completely and loosely cover, let stand overnight. 

    The next day, remove from the pan and discard the parchment paper. Use a sharp knife to cut into 30 squares. Serve immediately or cover until ready to serve.

    Valentine Nougat Candy Recipe:

    Ingredients

    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 bags 10 oz each, white chocolate chips
    • 2 bags 10.5 oz each, mini marshmallows
    • pink gel food coloring
    • 1-½ cups red gumdrops quartered (Set aside about 25 gumdrop pieces for top)

      Crazy question can you make this with milk chocolate melts?

      I haven't tried it, but you can certainly try it out! Milk chocolate melts differently than candy melts, so the consistency may not be the same.
