While I was in Los Angeles last week for the #IronMan3Event, I had the pleasure of staying at the Sheraton Universal Hotel near Universal Citywalk and the Sheraton Universal Hotel Room Service was absolutely to die for. I was so impressed by the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles that I wanted to share it with you!
My lodging was paid for by Disney as part of the Iron Man 3 Red Carpet Premier experience, but as you’ll see in these photos, my opinions are all my own!
When I arrived in Los Angeles, I was a bit nervous about the hotel – I’ve never been at a Sheraton and didn’t really know what to expect. All I knew is that the Sheraton Universal City Hotel was known as the Hotel of the Stars…
As soon as I arrived, I found that the Sheraton Universal City Hotel was literally across the street from Universal and that whole Hotel of the Stars thing?
It was obvious why they have that slogan – the entire hotel is glamorous, adorned with movie star memorabilia, and you’ll truly feel like a star when staying there!
I normally check out the pool area as soon as I arrive at a hotel, but it was in the 60s in Los Angeles when my flight touched down…and that is much too cold my this Miami gal!
The pool area was incredibly beautiful and I can imagine spending a long, lazy afternoon lounging next to the pool on a future vacation.
While my hotel room at the Sheraton Universal City Hotel did not have a balcony, I did have quite the view!
The guestrooms at Sheraton Universal City Hotel range from the 325 sq ft Traditional Guest Room, which is the kind of room I had during my stay, to the 975 VIP Suite, which includes a formal living and dining room.
Of course I didn’t need all of that during my three day stay – my room suited me just fine and was more than elegant enough!
The bedding is luxurious and I had no problems drifting off to sleep after my activities each day. In fact, on my last morning in LA, I did not want to get out of bed because it was so comfortable!
Many business travelers stay at the Sheraton Universal City Hotel, and each room is equipped with wifi, and a spacious desk for getting work-related tasks accomplished in your room.
The set up was fantastic, there were three electrical outlets on the desk, which made it so easy for me to work on my iPad while it was charging, charge my iPhone and my Mophie charger case all at the same time!
Of course, the rooms are perfect for those traveling solely for pleasure as well, with flat screen TVs, comfortable lounging chairs and all of the amenities you normally look for while traveling.
As I’m an East Coast gal, I was ravenous when I arrived around 2 pm, and immediately ordered room service so that I wouldn’t pass out before dinner time. While we all know that room service is never cheap, I was happy to find that the room service menu at the Sheraton Universal City Hotel did offer quite a few all-day options for under $20.
I ordered this club sandwich with fries for $17, and as you can see, it was enough to feed two – or three – people.
If my husband and daughter had been with me, it would have taken all three of us to eat this meal!

I was happy to find a rather large closet in my room, with plenty of room to hang my clothing. Normally when traveling, I just leave everything in my suitcase, but attending a red carpet premier is not your ordinary trip…
I hung my dress and other clothing in the closet and was happy to find not only a luggage rack for my suitcase but an iron and plenty of hangers to hang all of my clothing.
I personally don’t exercise while traveling, but for those that do, the Sheraton Fitness center will be sure to impress you!
The 1,500 square foot fitness center powered by Core Performance at Sheraton Universal Hotel is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm with complimentary access to TRUE treadmills, Lifecycle exercise bikes, Elliptical cross trainers, stair climbers and free weights. There is even a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool!
If you don’t enjoy working in your room using wifi, you will be happy to find the Link @ Sheraton area by Microsoft in the downstairs lobby. There is complimentary access to computers with internet access to help keep you connected.
A place to gather and catch up on all of the day’s news, catch up at home or check flight status, the Link @ Sheraton internet lounge is available 24/7.
There is also food and beverage service is available in the lounge through at the In The Mix lobby lounge, where you can simply charge your refreshments to your room.
If you are a wine drinker, you’ll be happy to find an extensive wine list!
