I've been keeping a secret since April 2013 and I finally have permission to spill it! Well, you guys know that I visited the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier last year while I was in town for the red carpet Premiere of Iron Man 3, right? You even got to see a fun photo of my holding the REAL Captain America shield in this blog post...but there's more. Oh, so much more!
That's right! As you can plainly see, I met Chris Evans.
I MET CHRIS EVANS!
I MET CAPTAIN AMERICA!
While we did only get one photo with Captain America himself, we actually had a pretty full day on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. After interviewing the props manager, Russel, we were invited onto the set to actually watch a scene being filmed for the upcoming movie. How incredibly cool is that?! I have done some pretty awesome things in my lifetime, but that day? Well, it ranks pretty high up there, right behind the day Angeline was born and the day I married Chris. It was thrilling, exciting, breath-taking...I don't know if anything can compare to the excitement of being on a movie set - the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, no less!
We began by watching the cast work on a scene and let me tell you, I really had no idea how much work making a movie really is. We watched for almost an hour as they did this one scene over and over again. They changed lines, changed posture, changed the tone of their voice, improved - I had no idea that it took so long to film one scene!
Here is one shot of Captain America and Black Widow, which was the scene we saw them working on inside the Quinjet.
I can't wait for Captain America: The Winter Soldier to premiere in theaters next month because when this particular scene comes on screen, I am going absolutely die, knowing that I WAS THERE when they filmed it!!
After they wrapped up filming that scene, Frank Grillo came over to talk to us and he was so funny and nice! Sometimes it amazes me how down to earth and friendly movie stars can be!
So, I am pretty sure you're wondering what it was like to meet Chris Evans, Captain America himself. It was amazing. I was so nervous, but he was very friendly and personable and asked us about our blogs, if we had fun, etc - and he is even more handsome in person than he is on screen. I am not usually one to go crazy over celebrities or movie stars...but I may have developed a tiny bit of an obsession with Captain America after meeting Chris Evans. Don't get me wrong, Iron Man is still my main squeeze...but Captain America? I hope they make movie after movie after movie (or at least give him a cameo like they did in Thor: Dark World) for Captain America so that I can keep seeing those blue eyes on the big screen!
Okay, so it isn't all about Chris Evans...he was just the highlight of the set visit! We also got to see a lot of behind the scenes stuff going on while we were there! Check out this exclusive behind-the-scenes image of Chris Evans and Co-Directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo working with Chris Evans!
As I said, Frank Grillo came over to chat with us while we were on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Here's a super cool, exclusive behind-the-scenes shot of Frank Grillo from the set!
We didn't get to see this part of the filming because it happened before we arrived that day, but here's another exclusive behind-the-scenes image of Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson. I love this shot because movie-goers never really see all that goes into a movie. While a scene may just involve one or two actors, there's a ton of people behind the scenes handling lighting, sound, recording - it really takes a village!
