Last weekend Marvel’s Iron Man 3 began its record-breaking debit in 42 international territories representing 79% of the international marketplace. Iron Man 3 reaped an estimated $195.3 million, surpassing the $185.1 million international opening weekend take of Marvel's The Avengers! Iron Man 3 was the #1 film in every market and is the biggest opening weekend of all time in Asia Pacific and Latin America!

Once Iron Man 3 opened in the US on May 3, it brought in $175.3 million its opening weekend, bringing the total to over $680 million worldwide...and there's a reason why Iron Man 3 is doing so well.

BECAUSE IRON MAN 3 IS AWESOME. 

 After I attended the Iron Man 3 red carpet premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, I was invited to attend a special advanced screening back home in Miami. Because I had just seen it, and Chris was out of town for work, I sent my little sister and Angeline to the screening.

5 Reasons Why You Should See Iron Man 3

1. Find out what happened after Marvel's The Avengers.

Ever wondered if Tony Stark experienced any kind of emotional issues after basically saving the world in Marvel's The Avengers? Tony suffers from insomnia and nightmares after his part in Marvel's The Avengers and as he confesses that he's a "hot mess" to Pepper, he says, "Nothing's been the same since New York." We always knew that Tony Stark had a dark side, but we really see it in Iron Man 3.

2. Pepper Potts saves the day!

In the previous Iron Man movies, Pepper is the girl friend, the companion, the assistant - but she's never portrayed as a super strong character. That all changes in Iron Man 3, when we watch as Tony sends Mark 42 to her as they are under attack by the Mandarin - one of the most awesome scenes in the movie - and she saves Tony from falling debris. Later in the movie, we watch she becomes a victim of AIM and then totally kicks butt and saves the day.

3. I've never laughed so much during a Marvel movie!

I remember laughing while watching Marvel's The Avengers and being so surprised that it was as funny as it was. Iron Man 3 is even funnier, sometimes having a dry, witty humor, other times just being down and out funny. Chris hardly ever laughs out loud and he was chuckling right along with me during Iron Man 3!

4. Tony Stark befriends a sweet kid.

Iron Man 3 isn't exactly a children's movie, but they did a great job of incorporating a relationship between Tony Stark and Harley, a kid he meets after escaping the destruction of his home by the Mandarin. We watch as he interacts with the kid, even getting ideas from him - the relationship between Tony and Harley adds a new dimension to the movie that everyone will enjoy!

5. Tony Stark leaves the Iron Man suit behind.  

At the end of Iron Man 3, Tony turns over a new leaf - he destroys all of his Iron Man suits and removes the shrapnel from his heart...what's next for Tony Stark? What will become of Iron Man? This change leads to a thousand possibilities, and I for one can't wait to see what they are!
