We love a good Summertime Strawberry Banana Smoothie for a rich, nutrient dense, low sugar smoothie! It's that time of year again...It's SUMMERTIME!!!! Summer may still be on its way in where you live, but in Miami, we are already in the full brunt of it - and soaking up that gorgeous Florida sunshine every chance we get!
While we Miamians love our summers, it kind of poses a problem...of course we want to look good in our summer clothes (which are basically bathing suits and sundresses or shorts and tank tops), but we also want lots of nice, cold refreshments.

It's hot out, of course we want to drink cold beverages! And ice cream, and milk shakes...you know what I'm talking about, right? One of the biggest hurdles in weight loss is not "wasting" your calories on beverages.
They really sneak up on you! I came up with this delicious Summertime Strawberry Banana Smoothie using SPLENDA ZERO™ Liquid Sweetener to save myself a few calories on one of my favorite summertime treats. It's like a strawberry milkshake without the guilt!
The biggest difference between a smoothie and a milkshake - for me, at least - is that smoothies aren't typically very sweet.

How to Make Summertime Strawberry Banana Smoothie
We used Splenda liquid in this recipe, but you can skip it or just use a ½ teaspoon of sugar for a bit of extra sweetness!

- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
- 1 squeeze of SPLENDA ZERO™ Liquid Sweetener to taste
