Like most moms, I love my Crock Pot - or Slow Cooker, if that's what you call yours - and I try to use it as often as possible. Throwing a bunch of stuff into the slow cooker in the morning before the craziness of the day begins takes just a few moments but yields big rewards when dinnertime rolls around and everyone is starving but you're too tired to cook! This is a Quick Slow Cooker Meatloaf Recipe allows you the opportunity to feed your family a great dinner without a lot of hassle!
Kacey created this easy Slow Cooker Meatloaf Recipe for me and I was surprised to see that she includes BBQ sauce in her recipe! Why haven't I ever thought of that before? Do you ever use BBQ sauces in your meatloaf?
Looks pretty dang tasty, doesn't it?
I have always loved meatloaf because it reminds me of the meatloaf my mom made when we were growing up. I think many people have those memories of the meatloaf with Heinz Ketchup poured over top, baked right in, with a side of creamy mashed potatoes...
Ah, the classic American comfort food!
My mom did things a little differently when it came to making meatloaf. Granted, she did use Ketchup on top, but she always mixed in A1 Steak Sauce too! It's a trick that I've carried on into my own cooking, and Chris and Angeline love it!

A Quick Slow Cooker Meatloaf Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground free range bison
- 1 pound ground free range beef
- 1 large onion
- 2 large carrots
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach and Swiss chard
- 1 large head of broccoli
- 3 cups whole grain bread crumbs
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup A1 steak sauce
- 1 cup Sweet Baby Rays original barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Thoroughly wash all of your fresh vegetables then rough chop the carrots and onions down to 1-2 inch size pieces. Use your food processor to dice them down.
- Combine the vegetable mix with both meats in one large bowl. Chop down the bread and pulse into crumbs, again we used the blender.
- Add to the combined meat and veggie mix. The liquids from the vegetables will make this a bit wetter then you might be used to-that is alright.
- You’ll want that for the first part of cooking before the fats from the meat start to come out in the slow cooker.
- Press into your slow cooker so it is the same height then prick with a fork across the entire top. That will allow the flavors of the sauces to really infuse themselves into the meatloaf. Pour the worcestershire, A1 and barbeque sauce across the top, quick combine with the fork.
- Cover and cook on low for about 3 hours.
