If you grow up in a tropical climate there is something about a palm tree that speaks to you. Whether I see them here in Florida, on a tropical island in the Caribbean or across the US in California, something about it feels like home.

Sprawling over 11 acres in Long Beach, Hotel Maya is surrounded by more than 400 palm trees in a fusion of tropical escape meets Latin flare. It's enough to make a girl from Miami feel like home.

Led by award-winning Executive Chef Victor Juarez, Fuego offers coastal dishes of Mexico, Latin America and South America.

The hotel is moments away from the historic Queen Mary, the beach, the harbor, dozens of shops, restaurants, late-night clubs, art galleries, museums, entertainment venues, bike trails and more.
