As you may have realized by now, I am a bit of a Disney fan...that may be the understatement of the year! When I was in Los Angeles in April to attend the #IronMan3Event, I paid a visit to Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store in Hollywood and couldn't wait to share my experience with you!
Thanks to Crunchy Frugalista for the gorgeous photo!
I had to take a picture with my beloved Mickey Mouse in front of Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store - what a great photo opp!
Disney's Soda Fountain offers that old fashioned ice cream parlor experience with ice cream especially made by Dewar's!
In addition to the ice cream, Dewar's provides five different flavors of homemade taffy chews and a secret family recipe for hot fudge and marshmallow toppings! All of the soda products are Coca Cola, of course!
My group arrived at Disney's Soda Fountain a little early, so they weren't serving yet, but they do serve ice cream cones, sundaes, shakes and malts, freezes and floats! Oh and get this - everything is served by an authentic soda jerk!
There are a few different areas to sit and relax with your frosty treat; there is counter seating, full service tables, a little take-out area for when you need your treat in a rush!
Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store has the best of both worlds: ice cream and Disney merchandise!
Something I didn't expect to find was the Disney Vault!
You know how each time a Disney movie is retired, they talk about it going back into the vault - and then after a certain number of years, it comes back out of the vault and is digitally remastered and sold in a new format?
Well, here's that famous Disney vault!
Just kidding...it's not really the vault - but it's the running joke and it excited me none the less!
Going along with Walt's Vault theme, the film strip running along the ceiling actually shows the DVDs as they began being released in 2005. It runs around the perimeter of Disney's Soda Fountain and you can have a lot of silly fun seeing how many scenes you recognize from your favorite Disney films!
Speaking of Disney films, you can buy all of the currently available Disney films on DVD and Blu-ray at the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store! I was so tempted to stock up on a few of the newer Disney movies that we haven't bought yet, but space was scarce in my carry on baggage!
In addition to Disney DVDs and Blu-rays, there is also a ton of awesome Disney and Marvel merchandise sold at the Studio Store, like these Iron Man 3 action figures - and just about anything else you can imagine having to do with Iron Man 3!
There are action figures, dolls, collectible memorabilia, even clothing for popular Disney movies!
I am a huge collector of Disney collectibles and I wanted so badly to buy this Cinderella castle...but again, the carry on was already pretty tightly packed and I knew it would end up broken if I were to try to shove it in there!
It would have looked so perfect in my china cabinet with my Cinderella tea set or my Cinderella cookie jar!
I guess that means that I need to pay another visit to the Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store, what do you think?
Between missing the ice cream and not having prepared my luggage with extra room...that's reason enough to go back!
