I was asked to participate in the #USCranberries program, sponsored by the Cranberry Marketing
Committee. Although I have been compensated, all views are my own.

Summer is here and it is HOT, my friends! Have some summer fun with cranberries and try them with all types of dishes. Cranberries are fantastic in any form, from fresh to frozen, dried or as a juice - that unique tart flavor adds so much flavor to everything from soups to salads, to entries to baked goods and desserts! With the summer heat rising, instead of running to the 7-Eleven and buying a slushy that's full of chemicals and have absolutely zero nutritional value to cool down, how about making a refreshing Cranberry Slush right at home? Cranberries are so refreshing and they are wonderful for your health because they're a good source of antioxidants and fiber!

    Cranberry Summer Slush Recipe

    Ingredients

    1 cup frozen cranberries
    2 cups frozen strawberries
2 cups cranberry juice (NOT cocktail)
1 teaspoon agave nectar OR you can use regular granulated sugar

    Cranberry Summer Slush #USCranberries

    Directions

Slushes are pretty basic: throw it all in the blend and blend until completely smooth and creamy! You can skip adding the nectar/sugar to this Cranberry Slush until after you have tasted it. I don't use any sweetener in mine, but Angeline prefers it in hers because of the tartness.

You can also add blueberries or raspberries to this slush instead of the strawberries if you want to mix things up. Get creative! You can't go wrong with any type of berries!

Cranberries are America's Original Superfruit! They are a good source of antioxidants, naturally fat and cholesterol free, are low in sodium and a good source of dietary fiber. Not to mention the bling factor; there's no simpler way to bling up a summertime meal than by enhancing the colors with bright red Cranberries!

And of course, they taste great! What's not to love?

You can also find lots of delicious Cranberry recipes on the US Cranberries website. There are Cranberry recipes for everything from refreshing drinks like these Cranberry Coolers that inspired my Cranberry Slush to dinner recipes like a Cranberry Braised Pork Stuffed Peppers to desserts, such as Apple Cranberry Pie!

I love cranberries. I know many people feel it's an acquired taste. I guess I acquired mine at birth. Your Cranberry Summer Slush looks so refreshing. Think I'll go make one for myself right now. Lucky for me, I have all the ingredients.
