How to Make this Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Halloween Recipe
Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Recipe Ingredients
- 1 C. butter, melted
- 2 C. packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 C. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 C. chocolate chips
Directions for making this Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Recipe
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 9 x 13 baking dish with parchment paper. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and set aside.
In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, 2 eggs and vanilla extract mixing well. Slowly fold in the dry flour mixture into the wet mixture.
Add in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter evenly into the 9 x 13 baking dish and bake your Pumpkin Cookies for 25-30 minutes.
Allow the bars to cool completely prior to decorating.
Directions for Decorating your Cookies like Pumpkins!
- 2-3 tubes of Wilton sparkly orange gel icing
- 1 tube of Wilton green sparkly gel icing
- Pumpkin shaped cookie cutter
- toothpicks
Once the bars have completely cooled, use the Pumpkin cookie cutter to cut the cookie bars. Try to get them as close as possible so you are not wasting space. You can get 6 shareable (large) pumpkins from one 9 x 13 pan of cookies.
Outline each cookie bar with orange icing and then fill in using the toothpicks to help cover the pumpkin (see photos).
Use the green sparkly gel for the top.
Repeat with all the cookie bars.
*Makes 6 Large Cookie Bars (2 servings each) using the Wilton Comfort Grip Pumpkin Cookie Cutter!
