When it comes time for a road trip, I tend to leave my 12 year old car at home and drive something newer - and more reliable - because the biggest worry when it comes to road trips is...car trouble! We've always been a big fan of the Chevrolet brand, and I basically fell in love with the 2018 Chevy Equinox when I did a review back in December 2017. Last month, I had the pleasure of test driving the Chevy Equinox REDLINE, and I have to admit...I am kind of obsessed with this awesome SUV! Starting at just $23,800 - I KNOW, WHAT A STEAL! - the Chevrolet Equinox Redline is one hell of a ride...and absolutely perfect for taking a girl's weekend road trip to the Florida Keys!
The Chevrolet Equinox comes in 14 colors, ranging from this gorgeous bright white that I drove down to Key West, to fun colors like Orange Burst Metallic and Sandy Ridge Metallic, which reminds me of a shiny mauve!
The gas mileage while driving the Chevy Equinox is just amazing! We drove all the way down to Key West and back on one tank! It came as no surprise, as it has an EPA-estimated 39 mile per gallon rating with that 1.6L turbo-diesel engine. You may remember me talking about the 2018 Chevy Equinox that I took on a road trip to Orlando and the Keys in 2017 - that got great gas mileage too, so I wasn't surprised by the great fuel economy in the Redline model!
The Chevy Equinox has 64.5 cubit feet maximum cargo volume and tons of space inside the car. My friend Bri recently sprained her knee, so she was laid out in the back seat for most of the drive home - and there was plenty of room, even taking her 5'7" height into account!
With Equinox, every drive is a chance to take a little time for yourself. The restyled interior is spacious enough to accommodate you, your passengers and just about anything you need to bring along. The dual-cockpit design features an integrated center stack, so everything is right at your fingertips.
You're probably wondering what that huge float is in the cargo area....yes, it is a unicorn float! On our last day in the Keys, we had a pool day and we HAD to bring along this awesome float that I purchased off Amazon! (affiliate link)
A few features of the Chevy Equinox Redline Edition
- Hands Free LiftGate
- Signature LED daytime running lamps
- Dual-cockpit design features an integrated center stack
The Chevy Equinox has been voted the “MOST DEPENDABLE COMPACT SUV.” *This award was based on a survey of 2015 models.
I am crazy about the Chevrolet Equinox - this small SUV is perfect for a single gal like myself, but would also be great for a couple or a family, as it has some much interior space! Check it out!
