2018 is a big year in the cruising industry, as Norwegian cruise line introduced the 3rd ship in the Breakaway Plus class, the beautiful Norwegian Bliss! I had the pleasure to experience the sixteenth ship in the Norwegian line last month when it sailed out of the Port of Miami for a quick two night voyage for the media. It's always special to sit in the port of Miami and watch the Miami skyline fade away as we set sail into the Atlantic, but this was extra-special, as I had my best friend on board as my guest and it was A BRAND NEW SHIP!
One of the best parts of my job as a blogger working in the travel industry is that I get to experience many cruise ships up close and personal before the general public really has a chance to experience them. Traveling is literally my favorite thing in the world (aside from my daughter, of course)!
The Norwegian Bliss cruise ship is something unlike I've ever experienced before, with seven different stateroom options available. SEVEN DIFFERENT OPTIONS. I have cruised a few cruise lines, all over the world, and I was still shocked to learn how many options there were are on this new ship! There is something for everyone as far as budget is concerned - everything from Haven suites to studios! We had a balcony room, and while it can be difficult to get a good photo with the sun shining through an open curtain, you can see how spacious the room is!
To be quite honest, the bathroom impressed me. I've been cruising for over a decade and this was the first time I've walked into a stateroom bathroom that was nicer than the bathroom in my home.
IT WAS HUGE.
Have you ever walked off a cruise ship and thought to yourself, "I really need to remodel my bathroom?" That's the experience you'll have when you walk into one of the Norwegian Bliss bathrooms.
The Norwegian Bliss Cruise Ship had a huge pool deck, with tons and tons of lounge chairs, which can often be a point of contention on sea days, as there never seems to be enough room for everyone...the Norwegian Bliss didn't have that issue at all!
DESTINATIONS for the Norwegian Bliss include:
Some of my favorite things about the Norwegian Bliss
The Observation Lounge
The revolutionary observation lounge offers the most expansive views at sea.
The Observation Lounge is located at the front of the ship and provides the same stunning views as the views from the bridge and features a full service bar for guests to sit back, relax and take in the views. You can actually oversee the Observation Lounge from the buffet area - it's directly above it.
The Bliss has the Largest Race Track at Sea - Imagine incredible firsts on our newest and most incredible ship, Norwegian Bliss. See the ocean blur by as you take hairpin turns on the largest race track at sea. Get ready for a thrilling ride on this two-level competitive track while putting your driving skills to the test.

There's also mini golf, laser tag, and many fun activities for the kids!
Enjoy a Jersey Boys Broadway Quality Show - “Oh, What A Night” is not only a hit song by The Four Seasons but also what you’ll be saying after an evening at the blockbuster musical, Jersey Boys. Journey from the gritty streets of Jersey to glamour and international fame as you follow the incredible true story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The band will rock your night with their timeless songs that include “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like A Man” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”
Q Texas Smokehouse - Smoked over hickory, oak and pecan wood, all our meats are infused with delicious flavors – whether ribs, chicken or brisket. Dig into some authentic Texas BBQ (extra napkins encouraged). As dinner winds down, the atmosphere heats up as a contemporary country band ropes you into a lively night of dancing, drinking and a honky tonk good time!
The Norwegian Bliss Pool Deck is the Deck to Beat All Decks!
My favorite area, of course...was the pool deck!
We really didn't want to leave the Jacuzzi. Ever.
My friend and I spent most of our time lounging in the sun, chatting with others and making new friends.
Did I mention that there is a WATER SLIDE? A death-defying water slide that practically slings you over the ocean?
My friend and I did it...then promptly ran back into line and immediately did it again. I swear we could have spent all day on that thing, it was that much fun!
A few things I highly recommend on the Norwegian Bliss are...the Cellars Wine Bar. It didn't really seem to be open, but while I prefer a strong cocktail, my friend loves wine. THEY HAD A LOT OF IT. We spent much of our last evening there, and they had an amazing selection from around the world.
Did I mention how amazing the food was?
Because it was...
Even the food in the "buffet," which is where we spent most of our time, was also quite fancy.
Now, the Norwegian Bliss has much, much more to offer than the few things I've shown you. For instance...night clubs. A SILENT DISCO.
I was only on the Norwegian Bliss for about 36 hours, so I just got a sampling of everything they have to offer. I hope to sail on this beautiful ship again soon so that I can take in the full experience!
