While I personally love mushrooms, my daughter Angeline is not really a fan of our fungi friends. Over the years, I've learned how to incorporate them into our favorite meals in a way that even pleases her picky taste buds! I know that a lot of parents face this same issue, so I thought it would be fun to introduce you all to some great ideas for bringing more mushrooms into your diets!

    Why we love mushrooms

Fat-free, low-calorie and nutrient-dense, mushrooms have natural antioxidants and essential vitamins and minerals, making them nature's hidden treasure!

This super food is a key ingredient to enhance flavor, extend portion sizes and bring an extra serving of vegetables to the plate for breakfast, lunch, appetizers and dinner.

How to Include Mushrooms In Any Meal

    Use Mushrooms for Delicious fillings

Are you making a soup, stew, pasta dish or casserole? Slice up some white button or baby bella mushrooms and include them in the dish, like in our Instant Pot Mushroom Barley Soup Recipe!

Or, add them to a delicious main course for dinner, as we did with this One Pot Chicken and Mushrooms Recipe!

Don't forget that you can use mushrooms in all kinds of casseroles too, like in our Turkey Mushroom Pot Pie Recipe!

Eat mushrooms at breakfast time! - Did you know that mushrooms are the only item in the produce isle that provide Vitamin D? I love adding white mushrooms to my omelets and breakfast burritos!

    Make Awesome Appetizers with Mushrooms

Get a healthy dose of antioxidants (like selenium) by noshing on stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer!

This Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe is made in the air fryer and couldn't be easier - or more delicious!

Go Foraging! One of the best benefits of mushroom living is that many are forage. Just make sure you identify which species are which, because as SporesMD knows, not all are alike.

Make Meatless Main Courses With Mushrooms

Given the hearty texture of mushrooms, you can easily turn any meaty dish into a meatless dish! Think of dishes like grilled Portobello mushroom burgers and pasta with sauteed mushrooms and garlic!
