The weekend... those two days of sweet rest in which you forget about work, worries, and you just focus in resting and having fun.

How many times have you wished that Saturday and Sunday had more hours? Although it is not possible to extend the time, there are some tricks that you can put into practice to make the most of the weekend, make it more durable and so you can relax before going back to work.

Top 10 relaxing activities on the weekend before the start of the working week

    1. Exercise

    1. Reduce household chores

It is necessary to avoid leaving pending tasks and household chores for the weekends. It is more advisable to distribute them between the work week. Why? Otherwise, on rest days, work will also be done and there will be no space to rest and relax.

    1. Disconnect

During weekends you should try to put a break to emails and calls, or you will be opening the door to stress, so it will be difficult to recharge and refocus. If it is impossible to get rid of everything, it is best to dedicate a specific moment to this task on Saturday and another on Sunday, at a time that does not interfere with the weekend plans.

    1. Follow a passion

Having a passionate hobby allows you to get away from stressful situations, and encourages clarity and openness of mind. It can be any activity: listening to music, playing an instrument, painting, reading, watching movies, etc.

    1. Spend quality time with the family

It may sound cliché, but in the week there is usually little time to dedicate it to loved ones and it is an extremely important point on an emotional level. It helps to take a break, clear up and return to work with renewed energy.

    1. Schedule micro adventures

They do not have to be things that Indiana Jones would do, but doing new activities that have never been done or that you have time to do is highly recommended. There are studies that show that, if in the week you experience emotion for future plans, the activities will be more pleasant and you will have a better mood. Travels! There is nothing more adventurous than traveling, go online and check websites like Groupon and try to plan a GTroupon travel to ensure your travel without many worries, for example, traveling on a carnival freedom cruise.

    1. Get up at the same time

Why would someone want to get up early on weekends? It turns out that it is not so good to sleep late to replace the lost sleep hours of the work week. Although at the moment it feels good, being inconstant during waking hours affects the heart rate. The body goes through several stages of sleep to get up fresh and rested. One of these phases prepares the mind to wake up and be alert, that's why there are people who wake up before the alarm even sounds. If you sleep more during weekends you will feel tired and it will not only affect that day's performance, but also the productivity on Monday, because the brain is not prepared to get up at the same time as always. If you want to reward lack of sleep, it is better to sleep early than to get up late.

    1. Prepare for the week

During the weekend you have to take time (30 minutes are recommended) to plan your week. Perhaps you are planning a trip when you can do it - will make your rest peacefully. This will save time in the week and increase productivity while reducing stress. This will allow you to focus on executing, not planning.

    1. Shop for Groceries during the week or Friday evening.

If you can, try to do grocery shopping during the week on the afternoon after work or Friday evening. That way you'll have one less thing to worry about.

If you cannot do those days, try Saturday early in the morning; You can go after having cleaned your house at 10 in the morning and the supermarket will be all yours because at that time many people will still be sleeping. Go to places where you can get everything such as Costco Bakery, Walmart or Target, this way you will save time going to other sites.

    1. Plan your meals

Cooking food can take away a lot of time from the weekend if you're not well prepared. Use your Wednesday’s or Thursday’s afternoons to create the menu of the weekend and go to the supermarket to buy what you need.

You can also cook meals on Friday night, keep them in the refrigerator, and have them ready to heat and serve directly. Do not complicate your life making difficult dishes or complicated desserts that take a lot of work like wine ice cream or rainbow cupcakes. Do simple meals that do not take much time to enjoy your weekend to the fullest.

Use Saturdays and Sundays to have fun, relax, disconnect from everything, and live in the present. Remember that there are three things in life that go away and never come back: words, time and opportunities.
