The Perfect Traveler’s Snack: Sweet and Sriracha Spiced Pecans Recipe

I created this post as part of a sponsored series with Socialstars and SPLENDA® Brand; all opinions are my own. #SweetSwaps #SplendaSweeties

As I spend more and more time crossing the US from Miami to New York, I’ve also been spending an increasing amount of time in the airport. I love getting to know this new city, but I also feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to sleep – let alone eat a balanced meal…or sometimes anything at all! I often find myself sitting in the airport, eyeing all of the unhealthy snack offerings and telling myself, “I wish I had packed a snack!”

Packing a light snack has become a go-to for making sure I avoid a serious case of the hangries. It’s also been a great way to make healthier, more informed choices about what I eat as opposed to being stuck with whatever is offered at the airport or during long flights.

I recently whipped up this delicious Sweet and Sriracha Spiced Pecans Recipe in what might possibly be the easiest recipe ever! As you know, I am recently single and have dropped about 20 pounds over the last ten months. Watching what I eat is really important to me as I get back into shape, so for this recipe I swapped out the sugar for SPLENDA® Sweetener Products. You can find all kinds of recipes for Sweet Swaps here.

Sweet and Sriracha Pecans

Swapping sugar for SPLENDA® Sweetener Products is so simple, it swaps cup for cup so there are no tricky grade school fractions to try and balance! You can find SPLENDA® Sweetener Products in a variety of shapes and sizes, so they’re perfect for all of your needs! Whether it’s a big bag of granulated SPLENDA® Sweetener and SPLENDA® Sugar Blend and Brown Sugar Blend for your baking uses, or single serving packets for sweetening coffees and teas – you’re bound to have the perfect option on hand!

Ever since I made my first batch of Sriracha Cauliflower I’ve been obsessed with the seasoning. My obsession aside, not only is this Sweet and Sriracha Spiced Pecans Recipe SO easy but they’re yummy too with just the right amount of slowly building heat.

I love that these are sugar reduced and calorie reduced thanks to SPLENDA® Sweetener Products. Instead of making these with my usual sugar, I used SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated, each packet is conveniently equivalent to 2 teaspoons of SPLENDA® so I didn’t even have to measure out the seasoning. Call me lazy but I took a small delight in that fact – fractions never were my friends. Plus, aside from a small amount of butter, the recipe features relatively healthy ingredients. When using SPLENDA® Sugar Blend instead of full sugar in your own recipes, please refer to the following guidelines.

These look awesome. My husband loves Sriracha and just found it in the powder form the other day. He was so excited.

Sounds like a great combination… sweet and spicy, plus some protein from the pecans. Will be trying these soon!
