Thanksgiving might be over, but there are still plenty of chances to enjoy your favorite pumpkin recipes before the end of the year!

Why not try this Pumpkin Chocolate Brownies Recipe at your next holiday gathering, or bake up a batch for a friend?

Pumpkin Chocolate Brownies Recipe by Nestle

    Ingredients

    Nonstick cooking spray
    ½ cup pumpkin puree
    ⅓ cup brown sugar
    1 large egg
    2 large egg whites
2 tablespoons applesauce or vegetable oil - I prefer applesauce because it's healthier
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon Nestle baking cocoa
    ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
    ½ teaspoon ground allspice
    ¼ teaspoon salt
    ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
⅓ cup Nestle Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels

    Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 8x8 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Stir the flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl.

In another bowl, stir together the applesauce, sugar and then beat in the eggs and egg whites one at a time.

Gradually add the flour mixture, and stir the batter until it's evenly moistened.

Divide the batter in half in two separate bowls. Into one bowl of batter, blend the cocoa powder and chocolate chips. In the second bowl of batter, stir in the pumpkin puree, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg.

Spread ½ of the chocolate batter into the bottom of the prepared baking pan, and follow with ½ of the pumpkin batter. Repeat the layers, ending with a pumpkin layer, and drag a small knife gently through the layers to create a marbled effect.

Bake for , 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool in the pan and then cut into squares!
