Valentines Day is rapidly approaching but in many parts of the world is going to look very different from normal. Where romantic nights out in fancy restaurants and hotels are normally the go-to for a Valentine night, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has meant that many of us will be staying at home this year.
How to Enjoy A Lockdown Valentine
However, that does not mean that you can’t have a romantic night at home with your loved one. Here, we look at some tips to help you plan and enjoy a lockdown Valentines night.
Table for two
There is nothing more romantic than a meal for two, but when you can’t go out for food, bring the food home to you. Support your local restaurants by ordering takeout. Instead of eating it out of the cartons on the sofa, decant it onto plates, sit at the table and use proper cutlery. Alternatively, order a meal kit and enjoy cooking a meal together.
Go to the movies
Go to the movies - without leaving the comfort of your home. Buy in some popcorn and candy, grab your favorite soda and grab all the blankets and cushions. Snuggle down on the couch and watch your favorite movie, There are plenty available on the amazon fire stick for you to choose from, including some of the most up to date films.
Spa night for two
What could be more romantic than a night for two at your very own personal spa? Buy in some face masks, shake up some cocktails, put on your robes and slippers and kick back and relax together.
Virtual cocktail making class
Cocktail making classes are a fun way to spend a night - it is a chance to get creative, have some fun and drink some great drinks together. While you might not be able to go out for them, plenty of bars and restaurants are offerine virtual ones, so set up your device, grab that shaker and get making.
Indoor picnic
Cook up some of your favorite picnic foods, put down a blanket in the lounge, pour the champagne and have an indoor picnic in front of the fire. Alternatively, head outside to the back yard if you have a trampoline, throw down loads of blankets and pillows, hag up some fairy lights, wrap up warm and eat your picnic under the light of the stars. You might want to pack up a flask of hot chocolate though - February can be more than a bit chilly.
Have an early night
Switch off your phones, turn off the TV and head up to bed. Whether it is for a bit of between the sheets action, a romantic massage or just lying there cuddling and enjoying each others company in the quiet and dark, it can be one of the most romantic things that you can do.
Valentines day may be a little different this year, but it does not mean it can’t be special. Get creative, think outside of the box and spend some quality time together. Happy Valentines Day!
