Our most unusual adoption was Hazel, whom Angeline's teacher found in A BUCKET outside of her high school. She was a tiny little ball of grey fluff, just a few weeks old, and we fell madly in love with her from day one.

While Gizmo is my best buddy, Hazel doesn't fall too far behind, and this little fluff ball even had her own Instagram for a while!

Yes, it was called "Little Fluffy Kitty," but unfortunately, with my travel schedule that year, she ended up growing up so fast that I couldn't keep up with updating it in real time...and then she was a beautiful, fully grown kitty!

Gizmo and Hazel get along really well, they're the best of buds! Gizmo even mothered Hazel when she was a baby - one of the sweetest things I ever saw! They love playing together!

Gizmo is my special kitty, who comes crying to me for her wet food, spends most of her day either sleeping in my bed or lounging on my desk to keep me company while I work. She literally WILL NOT LEAVE MY DESK and often tries to even get into my lap while I am working on blog posts!

They say that cats always have "their person," and I am definitely Gizmo's person. It isn't unusual for me to wake up in the morning with her sleeping next to me...she claimed my ex husband's side of the bed as her own the day he moved out. Needless to say, I prefer her company! Ha ha!

These silly cats have completely taken over my bed, but I am not complaining - that's what cats are for! Dogs may be man's best friend, but cats are amazing companions!

Sweet Kuro is the oddball of our cat family. He never quite let go of his wild roots and spends most of his time outdoors in our back yard. We have a super high wooden fence, and while I know he COULD jump it and escape the backyard, he is perfectly content to spend his time outside, rolling around in the dirt, hunting birds and chilling on the boat.

He has also taken a liking to spending time with me in my home office, mainly lounging on my photography station.
