What Is Dalgona Coffee?
Dalgona coffee is a whipped coffee drink that feels and tastes like caffeinated whipped cream or a coffee mousse. It originated in Macau, which is off the south coast of China.
It's a very simple drink that you can make with or without a blender. All you need is some instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. Then add some cold or hot milk, and the results are incredible!

I have never been one to drink hot drinks. I didn't grow up with parents that drank coffee, so it just was not a habit that I ever picked up. It wasn't until I was about 30 that I had Vietnamese coffee for the first time...and then I fell absolutely head over heals in love with ICED COFFEE!
So of course, you know when I am making myself a coffee on those mornings when I need a boost, it is always an iced coffee that I make for myself. I like my Dalgona Coffee with cold almond milk, it is such a luxurious little treat!
This whipped coffee drink will taste amazing with a slice of coffee cake. Talk about relaxing!
How to Make Homemade Dalgona Coffee
This recipe takes just 10 minutes and makes one cup of coffee.
Ingredients

- Instant coffee
- Granulated sugar
- Hot water
- Milk of your choice (hot or cold, which ever you prefer)

Instructions
Here are some step-by-step pictures, showing you how to make Dalgona coffee at home. It's so easy!
In a small bowl add the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water.
Whisk these ingredients all together until the mixture becomes thick and foamy.
If you are using an electric mixer it should take just about 3 minutes. If you are whisking it by hand, it will take you just a little longer, approximately 8-10 minutes.
Once your mixture is all thick and foamy, add it to a glass of milk of your choice. You can use hot or cold milk, any any kind of milk will do. I use almond milk and I like it cold for an iced coffee style drink.
Stir until well combined, or you can leave a little foamy layer.
You can drink this with hot or cold milk.
