I created my Hershey’s™ Spreads Chocolate Dip and Rocky Road Banana Bread Recipes using Hershey’s™ Spreads as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #SpreadPossibilities #hersheysheroes
If you love Hershey’s® chocolate as much as I do, then you’ll probably be pretty excited to learn that Hershey’s® has just recently brought their delicious chocolaty goodness to a store near you in the form of a chocolate spread! That’s right, Hershey’s™ Spreads are now available in grocery stores and mass market retailers, and they’re pretty fantastic!
Hershey’s™ Spreads come in three varieties: Chocolate, Chocolate with Almond and Chocolate with Hazelnut. My favorite was the Chocolate with Hazelnut, but Angeline loved the Chocolate with Almond. You can find out more about Hershey’s™ Spreads on Hersheys.com, but the concept is pretty simple: they took all of the deliciousness of a Hershey’s® bar and put it into a spread! This chocolate spread is so versatile; you can use them to dip fresh fruit in, smother them on a slice of toast, use them in a sandwich with sliced bananas or with peanut butter, add a teaspoon to your smoothies or even use them in your baking…of course I used them in my baking!
With the holiday season in full swing and Valentine’s Day right around the corner (I know, I’m getting a little ahead of myself!), I thought I’d whip up a few easy entertaining recipes using a few varieties of the new Hershey’s™ Spreads for you guys.
Really, I just wanted an excuse to get creative in the kitchen!
I whipped (ha ha, pun totally intended there!) this creamy, chocolaty treat up as an after school indulgence for Angeline with a few fresh strawberries. Now that it’s strawberry season in Florida, we’re eating them almost on a daily basis!
Hershey’s™ Spreads Chocolate Dip
Ingredients
5 tablespoons Hershey’s™ Spreads, any variety
1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
2 cups confectioner’s sugar
Directions
Combine the cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar and Hershey’s™ Spreads in a large bowl and beat on low speedy until smooth and creamy.
That’s it!
This easy Hershey’s™ Spreads Chocolate Dip is so easy to make and it’s so light and creamy! If you’re throwing a party, the kids will go bonkers over this twist on the classic dip that usually comes alongside fresh fruit. You can also microwave a few tablespoons of the Hershey’s™ Spreads and drizzle over the strawberries for a little extra chocolaty goodness!
Since Hershey’s™ Spreads sent me six whole jars, I decided to do a little experimenting with another recipe using the chocolate spread. It’s one of my favorite banana bread recipes, just slightly altered to sweeten it up a bit…because everything tastes better with a little chocolate, right?
I gathered a jar of the plain chocolate Hershey’s™ Spreads, marshmallows and pecans to turn my banana bread into a Rocky Road banana bread!
Hershey’s™ Spreads Rocky Road Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients
6 tablespoons Hershey’s™ Spreads
3 ripe bananas
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup applesauce (you can use melted butter or vegetable oil if you don’t have applesauce on hand)
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup mini marshmallows
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray two loaf pans with nonstick cooking spray and dust with flour.
In a large bowl, beat together applesauce, eggs, sugars, vanilla, bananas, salt and baking soda and powder. Once completely combined, gradually add in the flour.
Pour your batter into your loaf pan until it’s about 1/3 of the way full, then add your chopped pecans, mini marshmallows and drop the Hershey’s™ Spreads evenly over the surface.
Pour more batter over the top until your loaf pan is almost full to the top. This bread won’t really rise so you can fill it up almost to the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
This Hershey’s™ Spreads Rocky Road Banana Bread has everything you want in a banana bread: it’s moist and slightly sweet – but the layer of Hershey’s™ Spreads, chopped pecans and melted marshmallow add an entirely new dimension!
You can find out more info on Hershey’s™ Spreads and keep up to date on their latest promotions by liking the Hershey’s® Facebook page, and don’t forget to check out Hersheys.com for more wonderful recipes!
