Easy Party Appetizers: Marinated Mozzarella Recipe

Marinated mozzarella is an easy holiday appetizer that requires very little preparation, but yields an elegant presentation in the eyes of your family or guests. This is one of those dishes that you can make ahead of time to save yourself a little stress on the busy day or your party! Of course you can even make these Marinated Mozzarella bites on a lazy Sunday afternoon so that you’ll have yourself a fancy little snack waiting in the fridge when you get home from a hectic day of work on Monday!

The nice thing about this Marinated Mozzarella is that you don’t have to worry about making it ahead of time – it actually turns out much better that way. I am serious! For best results, marinate the mozzarella for a minimum of two days to fully infuse the flavor of the herbs and spices.

Marinated Mozzarella Recipe

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients

1 pound mozzarella
1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh basil, minced
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, minced
1/2 tablespoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt

Directions

Combine all ingredients except for the mozzarella and mix to combine. If your mozzarella is in a block form, cut it into smaller chunks, about an inch big. add to the marinade and toss to coat evenly.

Refrigerate at least two days to infuse flavors, stirring at least twice daily.

Serve cold with assorted deli meats and cheeses with crusty bread.
