I love PEEPS so much that I look forward to Easter each year just because I know that there will be a bevy of beautiful, puffy little PEEPS lining the store shelves in every grocery store, drugstore and mass market retailer all month long!
You might think that I would get tired of PEEPS after 40 years, but folks, I am NEVER disappointed. Each year, I find that there are new shapes, new flavors - did you ever taste the birthday cake PEEPS!?!?!??!?! - and I save up all of my carbs so that I can stuff my face with these sugary little angels sent straight down from heaven.
I used to do so much cooking and baking around the holidays, but as I've gotten older, gotten divorced, and Angeline's grown up...I have kind of lost my love for baking. I know, I know...I hope to regain it soon, but in the meantime, I think these Easter Sweets: PEEPS Cheesecake Jars Recipe will have to do.

Y'all know of my deep, everlasting love of all things PEEPS, and this PEEPS Cheesecake Jars recipe is no exception to my rule that I must stuff my face with PEEPS daily during Easter season.
It just wouldn't be Easter with out PEEPS. They're more important than the Easter Bunny, folks.

Jump to RecipeOh, and there is also like, Oreos and stuff. We used Golden Oreos but you can really use any flavor that you prefer - just keep in mind that the coloring will be different if you don't use the same ingredients we used to take these photos.
Have you even tried Golden Oreos though? They're pretty tasty! Angeline doesn't care for them too much, but she does like the Birthday Cake Oreos! To be quite honest, I am not sure that I can tell the difference.
I don't eat store bought cookies very often, but when I do...it's the original. Not even the Double Stuff Oreos! I'm a creature of habit, what can I say?

HINT: Please note in the ingredients: there are two sets of Oreos mentioned. One is FINELY CRUSHED Oreos, and the other is COARSELY CRUSHED Oreos. Yes, there is a difference, as the different textures are used in the different layers of this recipe.
Of course you can just use the same level of crushing, but your finished result will not have the texture that I am recommending for this delicious, amazing recipe!
Directions for making this PEEPS Cheesecake Jars Recipe:
You are going to begin this recipe by mixing your crushed Oreos and the melted butter together in a small or medium mixing bowl.
Next, divide the mixture evenly and spoon it into 4 mason jars. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of each mason jar with a tart shaper or if you don't have one, use the back of a spoon.
Then you are going to add the cream cheese, whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla into a mixing bowl. Beat this until the mixture is smooth.
Divide evenly among each jar (about 3 tablespoons per jar) and smooth.
Top with coarsely crushed Oreos and edible Easter grass cut into 1" strips. Top with a marshmallow peep.
Refrigerate until ready to serve. Makes 4
