If you are wanting to go traveling then you may be in the beginning stages of planning your trip. There are a lot of things to consider when going away, including how long you are going for. If you decide to leave the country for a long time then you will need to consider working while you are away. This not only keeps up your experience levels so you can keep your resume up to date but it also means you are making some sort of money. If you are in need of inspiration on common jobs you can do abroad then take a look at the article below.

    Freelancing

This is one of the best things you can do while working abroad. The world of freelancing offers you so many opportunities when it comes to finding work abroad. All you need is a laptop, PC, and a stable internet connection. There are websites online where you can advertise your services and even find work. Companies and individuals will specify what they need and you can decide if you want to accept this. As a freelancer you can set your own hours, fee, and turnaround time. It can help to have a niche skill so you can stand out from the crowd when it comes to finding freelance work.

    Teaching

Another thing you can do when working abroad is teach an additional language. This could be in schools or in private homes if you have enough people who are interested in your services. There are so many countries abroad that love their children to learn English as a second language, they are also willing to pay a small fortune for the privilege. If you have a background in teaching or childcare then this is even better, you can charge more because of this.

    Vlogging

You’ve heard of blogging, well now there is vlogging. This is even more personal and much more appealing to viewers and followers. If you have exhausted all options on your blog site and you are losing followers then try and explore the world of vlogging. This is a wonderful way to make money while you are away. You may have a travel vlog which shows your followers where in the world you are and what you are seeing at any given time. If you go to Disneyworld and Universal then you will be able to showcase all the amazing things to see and do including the rides and shows.

    Tour Guide

If you have lived in the area for quite some time then how about becoming a tour guide. There are so many wonderful places to see when you work abroad. For example, you could end up showing people around the cathedrals or churches if you have any nearby. Alternatively, there are certain states, cities, and areas that offer haunted tours. If that is your type of thing then you could offer your services to do this, astounding people with your knowledge. Some countries will be looking for tour guides on foot, on boats, and on buses.

    Work On Cruise Ship

You might like being away from home and traveling the world. If working on an airline isn’t for you then how about working on a cruise ship? This can be an amazing and wonderful experience allowing you to visit places you may only have dreamed of. Working on a cruise ship gives you plenty of chances to work in different areas from catering to entertainment. Some ships also offer childcare solutions so if you have a background in looking after children this might suit you very well. You don’t necessarily need experience to do this so speak to your local cruiseliner regarding vacancies.

    Au Pair

If you have experience with children then you could head abroad and become an Aupair. This is someone that lives in a family's home and looks after the children while the parents work. You will need to check how old you need to be to do something like this as different countries will have various ages to work in childcare. For instance, if you instead would like to work in America then you need to be at least 21 years old. If being an Au pair isn’t for you and instead you want to become a live out nanny then you will need to look for accommodation of your own. Take a look around for different coliving arrangements as you will be able to save on the rent.

    Work In Hotels

Something else that you can do when you are heading abroad is work in hotels. There are always plenty of roles available in existing and new hotels. This could be anything from  offering your services poolside, in the restaurant, on reception, or as part of the housekeeping team. Some hotels also offer you accommodation on site if you have nowhere to stay, this has its benefits meaning you will not be late for work. Working in hotels means you will meet lots of fascinating people and get to know different cultures and values.

    Bar Work

Finally, if you have experience in the hospitality industry then you could start working at a local bar or restaurant. You will often find that bars will give you as much work and as many hours as you need, unless they already have a lot of staff on their books. If you are working abroad for the first time then you should research the bar before applying for work. The last thing you want is to feel unsafe while you are working or on your way home from work after finishing your shift.
