Disney's Tomorrowland is now playing in theaters everywhere, yippee! In anticipation of Tomorrowland opening in theaters this month, I had the pleasure of visiting Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom last month and got treated to a 12 minute preview of the movie at Epcot while on my Disneynature's Monkey Kingdom press junket (admission to the park was complimentary). In Disney’s riveting mystery adventure “Tomorrowland,” a jaded scientist and an optimistic teen embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space.
From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s “Tomorrowland,” a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.”
What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever. 4-10-15 Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland” promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.
The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson. “Tomorrowland” is produced by Damon Lindelof, Brad Bird and Jeffrey Chernov and directed by Brad Bird, with John Walker, Bernard Bellew, Jeff Jensen and Brigham Taylor serving as executive producers. “Tomorrowland” opens in U.S. theaters on May 22, 2015.
So what does the Tomorrowland experience look like at Disney's Magic Kingdom?
Let's grab a little refreshment in the cutest Starbucks cup ever and check it out!
I can't tell you how many times I've walked past Tomorrowland while at Disney's Magic Kingdom and...just walked past. I didn't realize that there was so much fun stuff in there!
As soon as we arrived at Magic Kingdom, it began to rain, so I headed right to the Carousel of Progress. Can you believe that I had never been in there before? I had no idea what to expect!
As you sit down, you realize that you are literally ON a carousel in the attraction. You sit and watch as the scene unfolds before you - it's basically a walk through the ages for a family as they encounter technology changing more and more.
I personally think that they guy looks and sounds like Burt Reynolds...
Have you ever ridden space mountain? I've never been on it myself, but Angeline loves it!
I don't think I ever realized just how much there is to do in Tomorrowland at Disney's Magic Kingdom. I regret walking past that portion of the park for all of these years! I can't wait to go back and explore a little more - especially the Monsters Inc. attraction!
Unfortunately we didn't get to see the Incredibles Show, I think it may have been cancelled because of the rain, or we just missed the timing.
I wonder how much of the Tomorrowland portion of the park will be represented in the movie? I can't wait to go see it this weekend!
