Earlier this year, Angeline left the nest and...it was harder than I expected. While I can't say that I'm thrilled about the circumstances surrounding her recent return home, I'm really happy that she's here.
That being said, even though she's home, she is still busy with her life and she has her own car, for the most part, and I still get many of the perks that come from empty nesting.
For the longest time I've driven my Saturn SUV and I've always been happy with it. But that doesn't mean I don't sometimes day dream about what it would be like to have the cutest little hard top convertible or something sleek and sexy, like the Chevy Camaro. I may have even gone so far as to shop around on Cars.com to check out the best cars for empty nesters.
4 Awesome Cars for Empty Nesters
Jeep Wrangler
Can you even believe that these have a starting price of only $24,000? Seriously, every time I've seen them driving around Florida (in which, there are many) I've always imagined a much higher price tag.
While I'm not completely sure the Jeep Wrangle would be the car for me, I do like the idea of that ocean breeze in my hair. The latest models are pretty sexy too with leather upholstery, automatic climate control, a navigation system and a 6.5-inch touchscreen.
Chevrolet Camaro
You had to know you were going to see this on the list. The only question is - coupe or convertible? The former starts around $24,500 and the latter begins at $32,000. I have to say part of me is leaning toward the convertible because, single life in Miami.
Another part of me says I'll need the trunk space for travel. But is there really a wrong way to get a Camaro? I doubt it.
MINI Cooper
For the empty nester who can't decide. It's got a little big of English sophistication with so. many. choices. Hatchback, convertible, coupe and even the family friendly Clubman. I really just love the cute styling on these and base-level MINI starts just under $22,000.
Kia Stinger
I fell in love with the Kia Stinger during its introductory debut at the Detroit Auto Show this year.
I couldn't help it, it's so Miami. The red color is attention grabbing in all the right ways, it's loaded with the latest technology, large touch screen, all wheel drive - a true grand touring.
It comes with your choice of two turbocharged engines, both matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission or a twin-turbo V6 engine with over 360 horsepower. It's the quickest and most European car Kia has ever designed with the ability to go from 0-60 in under 5 seconds. While this isn't on Cars.com yet - it's expected to be released this fall!
